Halo! The flames! Mira screams at the top of her lungs. We waste our time here! The demons can be better dealt with inside! Leave the Hill Giant to Trotter!

Casting right out of the book?

Now that is how you play in a oneshot adventure! :D

Is the Ring of Regeneration factored into the damage tally? Thanks.
Yes it is.

I am sure the foolish young hobbit already knows this but, it only regenerates one hit point every ten rounds. It's barely noticeable.

So how are we going to safely separate the snow demon queen from the giant.

Chromatic Orb paralysis has a slim chance of working. Confusion might cause her to flee too maybe, it's a save every round spell so it stands a chance. Hypnotic pattern possibly.

is the snow giant queen considered "giant sized"? If so, Trotter's blade will be more effective against her and he can be convinced (well, maybe: he does hate giants so...) that it is the true enemy.

Hypnotic Pattern has that dern saving throw. Possible, but dangerous, as Mira would need to read it from the spellbook, thus be withing 30' of something that could kill her outright. Pretty unlikely to work on a Giant. I was also thinking Chromatic Orb, Stinking Cloud version. IF it hits (With the help of Project Image) the creature will be helpless for at least 1 round. The Confusion also holds promise, if only to spare ourselves a little damage. I'll save the Shadow Monsters (Both as a spell and directly from the book) for last ditch.

Did I see a gem and a ring on a snow demon??

EDIT: Rearranged the dialog into italics... Duh.

Xano- Has the ring of blinking if that can help. You have to be within 10 feet of the target. May put you more danger.

Not that Blodget would know this, but...

From the secret book, it looks like the gem is the home of the evil spirit of Yeshorkh Pahyeh, and the evil spirit has possessed the cloud giant(s) like a Magic Jar.

Exorcise cures possession.

And, if we get the Magic Jar (the gem) away from the cloud giant, the possession also ends, if I'm reading all this correctly.

Thoughts?

So the strategy would be to somehow separate the gem from the giant or cast the spell. Since we seem to lack someone who can cast exorcise (unless I'm mistaken), we'd need a scroll and a scroll-reader, so separating the giant from the Jar would be the current best strategy. My guess is that he wears it like an amulet or ring, but that's only a guess.

While mostly invisible in his cloak, Blodget could try to pickpocket the gem?

There's something else to consider: Whoever grabs the gem will likely be possessed next. A good reason for lowly Blodget to do it. His body won't be particularly useful to the evil spirit; he can't do too much damage to the party or cast spells. We just need a Faerie Fire, Detect Evil or Detect Invisibility to find him in his cloak, and a Hold Person spell to put him down for the count.

Just my 2 cents. I'm open to other ideas and would like to hear everyone's thoughts. :)

...Unless the gem somehow IS on one of the snow demons, but I find that doubtful.

I bet dispel magic will force her out if successful.

Protection from evil sometimes blocks things like possession does it not?
