The bald cook frowns, and responds "This is an old hospital. An asylum. For, you know, the crazies. In ... Lankhmar." He says this last with distaste, as if he holds Lankhmar in contempt.

"The exit is out the dining hall, down the hall, and through the barracks. They will not let you leave. Please... have some food. Maybe it is better you surrender... you won't be able to fight them all, I think..."

Fiapy:

"Ask him about their routine, maybe they clear out now and then, failing that, he could call them all to dinner and then we lock them in and run out?"

Dunulk the Free

While we work that plan out, got anything to wash this down, ale or wine, perhaps?

The cook grins at Dunulk. "Please... gentlemen... there is some wine in the dining hall. Come, let's sit down and eat... I swear on my life, my food will not harm you! You can eat this meat, that I *just* prepared for the men, or the food outside." He motions toward the plate of meat, and the other meat, still roasting on the skewer, then he motions for you to go out into the dining hall.

Shmehk

"The longer we stay here the more chance of being discovered" he says to the others.

He turns his attention back to the cook "How many guards are there, when are they next going to be here for a main meal, and who's bedroom is it across the hall?"

The cook seems somewhat disappointed when Shmehk squashes the food idea. In response to his questions...

"There are... two dozen men. They eat in shifts. Their next meal is in three hours. Don't worry..."

When Shmehk asks about the bedroom, the man clams up, and shakes his head, steeling himself for the consequences.

Shmehk sighs and glances at Dunulk's wound

"Perhaps we could pause briefy, sit and eat and recover some strength. We should take in turns to guard, what do you think?" he looks at his companions.

Fiapy:

rubs his chin and looks to see how many people this guy was cooking for...
grabs some vegetables and bread to eat...stuffs some in his pockets

"We probably have some time but not much, maybe sneaking out at night is our best option although I have no idea what time it is."

Shmehk speaks to the cook once more "So you fear the one that lives in that room more than death?"

He shows the man the green powder he found "Do you know what this is?"

The cook does not respond to Shmekh's goad about death, except to lower his eyes.

When asked about the powder, he nods.

"This is a powerful Eevamarensee sleeping poison. Imbibing it will cause sleep, but will not kill."

Shmehk looks interested "How many would this much affect, and can it be placed in food?"

Fiapy:

"Are we going to have him feed it to the other guards so we can get out of here?"

Shmehk "He says it's only enough for one"

Fiapy:
“For a deep sleep, making a bunch of them drowsy might be enough, either way, I say we get moving.”

Shmehk

"I agree. Once Dunulk has has a chance to catch his breath we should tie up and gag the cook and move on"

You give Dunulk a chance to catch his breath and have a drink of wine. The wine is as brilliant green, with a dry, crisp taste, and it enervated Dunulk's body. (herald to fill).

After a few minutes, you are ready to go. What next?

NJ hasn't been around in a few days, but he had expressed his desire a while back. The rest takes one extra turn.

Shmehk will look around the kitchen and dining room for something to tie up and gag the cook with.

There are various cloths and such around that could probably make a good gag. Don't you guys still have a set of manacles?
