Walt stops and considers the cats a moment. Then thinks aloud:

”What are you two up to? You both are special, but just how so? I wish I knew you better.” He repeats that via telepathic expression as well as through the neural link.

As the duel plays out Garvin looks on with concern asking Aster "Looks like it's too late to stop this. You know there's a reason Colace pubs 'ave parking areas 'round the back... It's for sortin' this kind of thing out...with a bit of privacy".

Skeet draws on his cigar whilst juggling both a smoke and a gas grenade but taking his lead from the acquiescence and approval of the Imperial entourage. He comments ruefully to Colonel Cross "If your boy wins I want Mertactor. Get on to air defence to drop any media drones... Ruddy 'ell, if this gets out it's going to boil up a treat in the "screamsheets"...".

The Aslan watch on with confused interest as the sudden involvement of a Vargr in a fight with the Crown Princess and his failure to have immediately died for his temerity baffles them. When Ciencia wins they applaud her victory with tapped weapon hilts but still seem rather bewildered as to the lack of any fatality. Indeed the fight's end prevents an intervention by one of the Bannermen who had by then concluded that the Vargr had egregiously breached etiquette and should face the consequences.
