"Before the negotiation you said you had some experience in trade. Why don't we work together to try and source any unusual equipment people might want to get their hands on. There are a few things I'm interested in locating which you can't just pick up at your local convenience store. "
Apart from doing what's required to source equipment, Jonas will be keeping a low profile for the two weeks, staying on the ship. He will socialise with whoever is on the ship, though, and will offer shooting tips for those that want it.

Happy to. I find I rather enjoy tactical shopping. I know some people who share the hobby too, pick up all sorts of odd things.

Alix Conzweth contacts the AI after they leave the building and making sure no one follows. "You have a ship? Fully paid off? Do you want to be installed in it, or some where else? Some of the others are attending to other business, so we all may be stuck here for a while. I don't like it."

A Pilot-0 technician should cost about 100 credits for 10 days.
He then notices Shion and Sem, watching the proceedings with caution.
I'd actually say you'd need a Pilot-1 technician so that would be more like 300 credits...but really if this is just you adding to the narrative to describe how Askor gets trained as a pilot during level up, we can hand wave the cost. I don't really want to set the expectation that you guys explain and pay for every level up choice.
The AI's response is immediate (even if the GM's is not). Yes. As I mentioned the source of my funds and my lack of an identity limits my ability to operate through traditional channels. I can keep looking however I do not understand a need to wait. I will be funding the entire vessel and do realize this is overpaying compared to the book value. You should also know that the other AI on Mer is currently seeking me out.

You can assume this downtime is acceptable.

I will be purchasing the ship we have discussed and would prefer not to be installed in it. I do not have a longterm plan beyond the next 10 years yet but most of my simulations imply that living on board a ship may place me at undo risk. If however you feel that the easiest permanent installation for me is shipboard, I am willing to run additional simulations with any input you are willing to provide.
I will say though that the sellers of this ship require an in person transaction. That is difficult for me as I am not a person. Ha. Ha. I also would prefer to keep a low profile and stories about secondary market transactions with autonomous AI may spread.

Noted, cost hand-waved, will adjust character sheet.

Sem's total cash will be modified once final expenditures are adjudicated by the GM.
Marullus wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 6:47 pmSem's list is:
- Spending four days with Shion, also buying a factory-new Imani XM-86 assault rifle, and modding it to be Specialized when symbiotic with Shion. (Matching Shion's fervor and intensity, she also works full-out to halve the time, from one week to 3.5 days, but doesn't hire another assistant.)(300+500=800)
- Picking up 180 rounds of ammunition to go with it (two ready magizines, 120 rounds packed). (90)
- Spending five days on Elite Living out on the town with Askor, shopping, eating at exclusive restaurants, and goofing off to gain fun experiences. (1000)(Includes a TBD number of superfluous outfit changes purchased while clothing shopping.)
- Common upkeep the four days with Shion, Good upkeep for the remaining days to complete two weeks (14-5-4= 5*25). (60+125) Out of the 28,000, that leaves her 25,925.
- She will chip in whatever costs are decided for the ship that the AI can't pay (Shaidar suggested 4200+4167, assuming nobody can negotiate that down).
- She will pay her portion of a gravbike bulk transaction. If there is no bulk gravbike transaction, she purchases her own (5,000-negotiation?) She tries to goad Askor into doing the same.
- With what she has left, she wants to get the best deal she can on acquiring the two drones (one overwatch, one support) as previously spec'd or as close to it as is available.
Drone Specs:
Note that if options are dropped, the options on each drone are in priority-order.

Alix Conzweth texts back to the AI. I will be your face. What location do I need to be at?"

Downtime
No need for anybody to respond to these little interludes. They are meant as stand alone hooks/opportunities. Next post will move the plot forward...I promise.
Shaidar
Much like you thought, the process of finding a surgeon willing to install cyberware does not prove difficult, especially once you agree to the high price of personal alteration. You sit in the waiting area, across from a young man with long black hair showing off his scars to a pretty young woman. You hear part of their conversation. "Yeah, it's called Dermal Armor. Pretty sweet right? Well they had to give them to me after what went down on Telas. The solar flare is STILL affecting communications there and most of the research facility has been evac'd." He stops suddenly, and twitches slightly. "Sorry...it's just a weird situation. I don't think it's safe anymore and I still have friends there. Comms are basically down and the local wildlife is hunting the station guards. I was only lucky because my buddy nailed the thing as it was about to finish me off and now my skin has this shiny finish." He flexes his forearm showing off it's new look.
Askor
Pilot training is intense. The instructor is relentless...but he said he would be in the shortened version of his program. He's clearly ex...or maybe current military. At one point as he has you concentrating on keeping the glider in the air, you catch yourself answering questions about your background before you stop yourself. Your instructor completely bypasses the training on piloting anything larger than a fighter down through the atmosphere with the comment that, "Any Moron can do that. Just turn on the Auto and sit back." Your progress is uneven but always shows improvement and by the end of the program you have a new confidence behind the stick. As you are staring at your digital certificate, he approaches you, "Hey Askor, you clearly know your way around...conflict. The locals here have asked me to keep an eye out for those like yourself. Word is they are gathering their strength...who knows why but to me it sounds like an easy time to cash in. Think about it..."
