I prefer the second one - feels more... Rugged.
For me, the more feral the better :D

I like the second one. The teddy bear looks more faded and worn in the second one. That makes it look used, which I think is important.

Are the barracks at the castle? The same place Corvin would have to go to get his money from the bank? Just trying to work out all the places he needs to go.

The Barracks are just north (as the crow flies, walking is a bit more indirect) of the taverns. North of that is the temple and magic academy, and finally in the far northeastern corner is the Castle with the bank in its basement.

That doesn't sound too bad, not zig zagging all over the city :)

I mean, you *are* doing some serious zig zagging. The Thornwall's outshoots have turned Thorncity into a labryinth. But Corvin has the city memorized due to his training, so he'll have no problem hitting the places he needs to hit efficiently. And if he gets lazy, he can always climb and move along some roofs. :) Not unusual to see the occasional Lupine move along the roofs.

:)

So, I just wanted to check that we're OK for covin to borrow the money for training. He's got 16gp of his own, but he'll need to keep some of that for living, and beer kegs. Need to be sure before he starts asking at the barracks.

Sebastian has 29 gold. So for simplicity, we can just have him pay for the training. He has no use for the riches he (somehow?) got his hands on (I guess an uncle died?), and that'll still leave him with 4 gold and 8 silver.

archolewa wrote: Sat Dec 21, 2024 8:43 pmSorry about that. We'll go ahead and gloss over the rest of the shopping. And yes, you can assume Mordred made sure he had the money to actually pay for the armor.
No need to apologize :)
I have been in a place in the past where I liked to RP all these small interactions during shopping, etc. Nowadays.... Meh. Not so much.

Bah Humbug! Holidays just get in the way of gaming. Everyone gets negative 50000000000 XP!

Just kidding.

About the XP.

The game started (in game terms) on May 15th in The Stolid Soldier.

Corvin has just returned from finding Astrid's family home destroyed. Would would be the date he was at the village? 13th?14th? Was he given any indication by the villagers exactly when the attack happened?

Probably a few days before he got there. Maybe the 10th or so.

Thanks, so the timeline appears to be:

1st May: Benjy discharged
6th May: Benjy home no later than this date
8th May: Confirmation arrives at barracks
10th May: Likely date of attack
13th May: Corvin arrives at village.

Compared to what Astrid says:
She gives him a meaningful look. "The shrine I stumbled on did not look that neglected. And Benjy had been visiting only a few weeks before, before having to report back to his unit only a few days before the priestess came."
This infers that Benjy certainly didn't tell his family he'd been discharged and that he might have even handed in the confirmation himself if he told them he needed to be back for the 8th. Then you have two days for the priestess to get to the village.

Would Corvin he able to tell the handwriting of Benjy Jr from his parents?

*sigh* This is what I get for firing off posts in between holiday stuff. Messed up timelines. Gimme a sec to work some corrections. We'll probably just have the archivist briefly mistaken, and go back to confirm the date in a follow up post, to bring those two into alignment.
