Cadeweed

Cadeweed will continue to remain in hiding until after the Ogre attacks and this will position himself for a back-stab. If Sir Dewey can talk the ogre down, Cadeweed will remain in hiding and not attack.

From his hidden position,

Cosmo

will Phantasmally conjure up a huge, juicy, appetizing medium done slab of sizzling roasted meat (such as half a freshly grilled wild boar torn off a spit might look), to instantly appear on the ground right in front of the ogre -

- and continue to concentrate fully on this illusion for as long as it is possible (up until the ogre has e g picked it up, dug into it and hopefully swallowed it)

Golgarth

Has to fight an urge to fight or flight. Feast is a strange option to him, especially once he sees some juicy steak flitting about.

Hope that doesn't make him hungry or angry or both. "Err Sir Dewey maybe your charisma can charm him a little more?"

The cleric doesn't in fact move away but tries to show by lowering his weapon he is not a hostile threat.

"Anyone speak Ogrish? Trollish? Giant?"

Sir Dewey

"Talk and eat." The Knight pulls out the last of his food and offers it to the Ogre. "Do you like honey? I know where bees have honey."

Sir Dewey motions back toward the cabin. "Here. Come see." He is trying to lead the Ogre away from the group.

"Give me some more rations, please." He holds his hand out to Golgarth.

Mai
Mai puts away her sword briefly, digging out her bundle of rations. I hope that these will satisfy. She tosses 2 days worth of her rations toward Dewey and the Ogre. noted on character sheet

I will wait on Darithe to post an action for Sigrid. It was mentioned she was readying a spell so I am clarifying which that is, magic missile, sleep, Charm Person?

I will wait a day then update.

April 30th 1066.

Cabins in the quarry.

After midnight: 09.20am
Weather: Cloudy, light rain.
Light: Torch carried by Solly. Lantern by Mai.

Conditions: Golgarth -2hp, Sir Dewey -5hp

The ogre is very wary, outnumbered by three or four humans brandishing blades and burning torches. Yet they seem peaceful enough not to suddenly enrage his violence.

The ogre fingers into the thin air, a strange vision of floating juiciness, rare meat and still on the bone as Cosmo entices him with a phantasmal rather than fantastic buffet. He just can't seem to grasp them physically or mentally.

Then he spies another sweet meat, juicy and still on the bone as Sigrid walks from the foilage to speak words that caress his soul and mind.

Darithe could you roll a 4d6+1 vs your intelligence score please.

He seems to placate, a smile crossing his visage instead of a toothy grimace. But these floating steaks buzz around his eyes like bloated mosquitos.

Ogre save vs charm spell [1d20]=14

The spell to charm him didn't hypnotise him enough to lull his senses. He swats away the steak with a swing of his club, annoyed at the tomfoolery.

next actions and initiative please.
Sigrid if you manage to retain the spell you could cast it and try again.

Sigrid sighs as her spell fails and she also fails to retain its power. Nonetheless, undeterred she addresses the creature in the Trollkin tongue, "We mean you no harm friend. You wish to feast you say. What do you like to eat?" She grins and opens her pack looking through the edibles she brought along.

Intelligence 14 [4d6+1]=14+1=15

Golgarth

In the absence of the fighters taking the initiative to drive off the abominable creature, the Cromm Cruach cleric utters a prayer and swings his Warhammer at the ogre.

Golgarth Warhammer melee [1d20]=10 damage [1d8]=7 stun chance % dam+1 per level [1d100]=49

"Away you wretch."

sorry I rolled the macro and posted just as Sigrid did. It would be unfair to withdraw my action my favour of parlaying.

Sir Dewey

He sighs as it inevitably descends into violence. "It was worth a try."

He follows Golgarth, pulling his Morningstar as he engages.

Morningstar: [1d20]=11
Morningstar Damage: [2d4+1]=6+1=7

I need to stop rolling for initiative. Someone else gets the next one. If there is a next one.

Cadeweed

Given that everyone has started attacking, Cadeweed will creep out and attempt to plant his sword into the back of the Ogre, but it looks like to target is hard to reach.

As a Halfling, he does have the race power to move silently, but he can do it as a Thief as well

Quarrel in the Quarry.

Ogre [1d20]=4

In a bizarre twist of fate, the ogre swishes his spiked club aiming to tenderise the armoured folk trying to assail him as the teasing juicy steaks floating in front of his eyes blink out of existence.

Golgarth and Dewey mimic the wide arcing slashes, each cuts thin air. Cadeweed does no better, trying to stab through the giants spine he barely tickles a rib with his riposte.

Solly waves his flaming firebrand hoping to scare the beast away, Cosmo prepares to defend himself. Sigrid grabs a sandwich. Ham and blue veined cheese with a smattering of lettuce and rutabago pickle topped with peeled beetroots and shallots.

The ogre seems irritated and flustered, yet among all the cursing and shouting some gentle voice speaks in northern troll. He roars like a lion to cut through the drama then holds out his hand. The sandwich a morsel in his palm but he takes it and munches, then holds a hand out for more.

actions please.

Golgarth

"We should kill this beast. An abomination in the civilized lands. He will only be a mad dog that bites the hand that feeds it."

The cleric of Cromm Cruach is wary of the creature and the intents of some of his companions. But with such inept displays of his martial prowess he waits for the warriors of the team to take any battle initiative.

He has some rations in his pack. Just bread and cheese, maybe an apple. But he passes his food pouch over in case the hungry ogre requires more to pacify him.

Sir Dewey

Not wanting to fight in the first place, the knight quickly takes the opportunity to parlay once more.

"Hold!" He calls to his companions. "Who speaks troll?" As he asks, he picks up the rations Mai tossed earlier and offers them to the Ogre.

Sir Dewey notices Sigrid feeding the beast and chuckles. "Ah. You did. Excellent. Could you tell him that we have only a little food, but that the bees may have plenty of honey?"

Cadeweed

Cadeweed takes advantage of the parley scurries to cover trying to disappear from the field of view of the ogre.
