It is a polearm that was designed to hook a mounted warrior and drag him off his horse; and then use the crow's beak to spike through the armor.

2. Bhart/Vargr: If you really don't want to play a Cleric Vargr; I have a Half-Orc Cleric/Thief from the cut-short ToEE Campaign I could use.....if that's cool with Bhart?

3. Bhart: You mentioned UA; if I keep my fighter character; do you allow the Weapon Specialization rules from that book? If so; then I'll make him Specialized in the Longbow.

It is fine by me if you want to change characters. Yes we are using UA so weapon specialization is allowed.

Clarification requested... My paladin is built using PHB, pre UA... Is that ok? ie. he is a fighter subclass rather than a cavalier one. (also...he couldnt qualify using the ua one...)

I can change him up if necessary.

No not necessary as long as you are happy with the character.

Perfectly happy with him...

Other questions... What is your helmet rule? ie. need to buy separately, for appearance only, or it automatically comes with armor?

For items not in phb, should we use osric, or is there a standard price list you want us using? or not allowed items not in phb?

I always assume armor comes with a helmet, even leather comes with a steel "cap" style helmet. So unless the PC says they are removing it or not wearing it is assumed in the AC. If a PC uses a great helm or no helm then the AC of the head is different. So every time they are attacked they roll d10 and a result of 1 means the blow is aimed at the head, therefore the heads AC is used.

OSRIC is acceptable for prices.

Gosh darn it. :) And here was me hoping I could arm a cleric with a two-handed polearm.

Got it. I was thinking it was some kind of two-handed warhamer thingy.

No, I am fine playing the party healer, really. I just never liked the concept of the Cleric as it was written of D&D/AD&D. That's why I created the Priest and Templar classes.

Bring your Cleric/Thief in if you want. My PC will take healing spells and be the paramedic. You can focus more on utility clerical magic if you wish.

I think my paladin is finished. I guess I should ask... he is eligible for his trusty sidekick horse. Is this module one that warrants the horse, or should it hang out in its magical off stage area where its been the previous 4 levels?

Okay, first of many "new guy" questions: on the Roll Stats option, I only get two choices from the drop down. Roll 4, cut one or Roll 3. No Roll 6, cut one. What did I miss? Thanks!

It is the roll 4d6 drop 1 that you see, for 6 different scores.

The Roll Stats function will roll up your six stats (which can have the order adjusted as needed). The d4-1 vs d3 option is to determine how you want each of the six stats rolled. Do you want the roller to just roll 3d6 for each stat (Roll 3) or do you want it to roll 4d6 and drop the lowest roll (Roll4)? Whichever option you select, it will roll that method six times for your stats.

Just to let everyone know I've added a 7th to group so you have a lucky number.

Angelicdoctor is hard at work on his character as is Slighted.

So the current roster is...

onlyme - Sterling the Human Paladin
Recklessfireball- Thundrigore the Human Magic User
Vargr1105- Oiran the Human Cleric
Dogma- Leomar the Human Thief
max_vale- Xam the Human Fighter
Slighted- Unknown
angelicdoctor- Unknown

Unfortunately Mr Ed won't be much use on this adventure. We can assume since you were spending a lot of time on ships sailing around the islands during this expedition, you left him with someone you trust. :)

Vargr: Okey-dokey: if you're cool with sticking to the Cleric; I'm cool with sticking with my archer. :)

Bhart/Vargr: I have a houserule that creates a "Maul" weapon; in essence a two- handed Warhammer that hits for 1d8+1 damage and is speed 9 (it's basically a 4-5 foot long, really heavy hammer). Clerics and Fighters (and Paladins, Rangers, etc.) can wield it. Obviously it's your call if you want to allow something like that. :)

OK guys I've finished magic items and encumbrance for 3 of you. I'll try to finish the rest tomorrow.

The total weight carried is an approximation based off the values in the DMG and OSRIC. I just do the check at the start to make sure no one is overloaded with equipment. I won't check again unless you guys try to carry something heavy, like piles of treasure or the dead bodies of your fallen companions.

BTW: I edited the posts holding your character sheets and put the encumbrance totals there.

A necessary burden in order to maintain the value of Tenser's floating disk and bags of holding. :)

Sure you can. However, at the start of this adventure you are being chased by a thousand angry natives. So, you would have to triple their salary to keep them from fleeing.
