Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Technically, the chains are pulled out of the wall, but your hands are still chained together...
As you begin to make some progress, you hear the sound of a key scraping in a lock, coming from the direction of the guard chamber.

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
There is a man sitting there, shackled to the wall like the others. He is bronzed from living and working under the sun. Somewhat young with rugged features that many women found attractive. A short dark beard and mustache done in the manner of the strutting bravos adorns his face while loose wavy hair falls across a pair of slate grey eyes. His attire consists of striped trousers, a wide scarlet sash about his waist and a loose shirt. At the open collar of his shirt is a flat piece of stone tied around his neck emblazoned with the sigil of the Sea King.
Taking his cue from the others, he tries pulling the ring from the wall.
I take it fleeting luck is different from using luck points. If not, ignore the bonus.
Strength Roll: [1d20+1] = 13+1 = 14
But his attempt fails. He turns to the others that are free and speaks in low Lankhmarese.
Truthfully, I believe I am to be somewhere else. Somewhere where there is a warm bed, a warm woman, and wine. But alas, here I am, Illyrio Ivarra, chained to a wall with no memory of how I come to be here. Strange, yes? Please, help me and I will join my fortunes with you, aye even my life! Quick! Someone's at the door!"

On hearing someone approaching the cell Schmehk turns to the northerner:
In Northernese
He stops moving, and starts speaking strange words in an odd, unpleasant sounding, language. He focuses his mind as he speaks the incantation, trying to push the magic past the metal in the manacles:
Spell Check (d16): [1d16+2] = 10+2 = 12
spell damage: [1d6] = 5
A slightly glowing ball of energy splutters from his hands and strikes the manacles. A broad smile appears on the man's face as he tries to free himself once more:
breaking free: [1d24] = 22
The damaged manacles part as he stands there unchained. He watches the doorway for signs of whoever is approaching.

The man in eastern garb moves back against the wall he had been shackled to, but closer to where the guard would enter, and holds his hands above his head as if still shackled to the wall.

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Fleeting Luck is extra luck, on top of your regular luck.
So, at the moment, you each (except ctcharger) have 1 more luck than on your sheet... this can/will be added to/ subtracted from per the rules on luck in the forum here.
Bitter_Dice, please put your dialog in spoiler blocks. I also need you to finish your character, so for the moment, I'm gonna say he tries and fails to pull himself out, but we're haven't gotten to Fiapy trying to help him before the door will open.
So, so far, Shmehk has his gag out broken his chains, Fiapy and Dunulk have pulled their manacle off the wall, but their hands are still chained together. The guard is about to open the door...

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Dunulk, hide is more like hide in shadows than subterfuge, but I get what you mean. When/ if the time comes, we'll roll for that...
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Oh, yeah, sorry... Shmehk *is* free of his chains completely. That blast did break them, yes.
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Am I right that there is metal bars between us and the door? If not, does Shmehk has time to slip behind the door?
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Fiapy will move to distract the guard if possible so he can be ambushed as I believe Fiapy is not near the door. Once ambushed he will assist.
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
You are in a cell with metal bars on it. The only light comes from a torch in what looks like a guard room outside. The door to that guard room is opening (presumably with the guard about to come in), but you guys are still in the cell.
There are two other cells, but they are dark and quiet.

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
As we can't reach the guard, Shmehk will to his best to look like he is still trussed up.
he speaks quietly in Northernese and Low Lankhmarese

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Assumes a position to look trussed up like he was before...
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
A monstrous figure emerges into the dim light of the torch set by the door, throwing a grotesque shadow onto the wall beside him. This creature stands nearly 7’ tall and is dressed in a well-worn smock stained with blood and other filth. Its head is covered by a black cloth hood, obscuring any signs of humanity. The creature pulls a lever set in the wall by the door and a loud click is heard from the cell’s closed door. The hulking figure approaches your cell, a sack in one hand and a pail in the other.

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Shmehk also holds still, peeking through one eye, waiting for the guard to enter the cell.
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
The huge, muscular brute moves toward your cell, carrying the sack and bucket. He opens the cell door smoothly, without using a key, and moves to Fiapy, turning his back on Dunulk (who moved to the opposite side of the room).
Hardly glancing at Fiapy's chains, he wipes his hands on his gore-covered apron, then fills a ladle with water from the bucket. He drops a piece of bread in the ladle, and holds it out for Fiapy to drink.

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
If not interrupted, the guard will make the rounds, giving bread and water to each of you (let's say, in order of the list of characters on the previous post)... Fiapy and Shmehk on one side, then Dunulk and Ilyrios on the other.
I guess I assume if someone goes, you would all follow, but it probably doesn't make sense to go one person at a time soliciting go/no-go, so how about each of you PM me when you would take the lead, if at all. I will start it off on the earliest, if anyone does start it.
