Calto the Druid:

Calto, hearing the commotion from below, instinctively steps well away from the pit and waits at the ready for what is to emerge.

Alex 'Blade Rain' Vam; Human male Fighter

Alex, hearing the cries of alarm from his companions lets out a sigh and an eloquent curse he first learned on the streets of Greyhawk city and he gently lowered Leomar's unconscious form to the floor and then drew his broadsword and his enchanted throwing dagger and he moved towards the commotion, ready to help if needed....

Siavel waits at the top of the pit to see what is transpiring below. He secretly wishes he would have stayed outside and taken his chances with the headhunters.

What manner of deadly creature or insane trap have we encountered now?

Grindhelm the Dwarf

Grindhelm pulls up his axe as he hears the shouts from below and readies himself in front of the pit, but gives enough room for the others to get out. "Come on, ye pest, give it yer best shot!" he calls down to the unknown creature that he wants to take head on

Azoth Al-Aziz, occultic priest:

The dark cleric says a silent prayer that the soul of Bruno the Mad is not trapped here, cursed to haunt this evil shrine for all of eternity in anguish and torment.

Then Azoth reflected, should the gnome merely be beaten into unconsciousness, at least he'll be lighter to carry than Leomar.

The skull creature rises and darts in the air at the retreating Bruno. The gnome feels his jerken rip, so close were its deformed fanged teeth to his skin. Bruno runs into the pit bottom.
Kitchi can close the door with an initiative win (please roll) or otherwise take other action.

Initiative: Party [1d6] = 2 vs. Monsters [1d6] = 6
Bone monster [1d20] = 10, [1d8] = 4

Kitchi will close the door if it does not trap with the creature. If Bruno and Kitchi make it safely into the pit room he will urge Bruno to climb the rope.

Bruno scrambles past. Kitchi slams the door but the flying skull monstrosity makes it far enough to get jammed into the doorway. It's stuck between door and frame, jaws snapping! And it's wiggling loose!

Actions!
Init vs Kitchi [1d10] = 10 Simultaneous. 1e initiative is 1d6 going forward. Normally I roll for both sides in combat, but this time I let you given the circumstance.
Tabai studies the runes in the pit: "The dead and still living within Cthuloxtl's Pit of Sacrifice will be born to final damnation by the Marroxotlactl, the Bone Spirit."

Kitchi will use all his strength to hold the door shut. Bruno smash its skull in while I hold the door!

OCC- Do I need to roll a strength check and how many d6 do I roll if so?

Bruno will draw shortsword and dagger and stab at the nose, trying to injure it and make it flinch back into the room.

[1d20+1] = 14+1 = 15 : [1d6+2] = 3+2 = 5 : [1d20-3] = 6-3 = 3 : [1d4] = 4

Tabai if he has a clear shot at the odd undead thing going at his companions he will fire attack it with his atlatl.

Atlatl (Thac0 16) [1d20] = 15 to hit [1d6] = 4 s/m dmg [1d3] = 3 l dmg

Siavel and others looking down from the top of the pit can see what is going on at the bottom.

Image

Kitchi the ranger presses against the door, his Native Amyrikan muscles straining. He keeps the cranial creature stuck in the doorway while Bruno the thief thrusts his short sword into the skull's forehead. It falls back; the door slams!
- Kitchi Str. vs. Monster Str. [1d20] = 1, [1d20] = 8 Kitchi scores critical on his Str. check! Dram I didn't see your Str. roll (from my PM), so I went ahead and rolled to move things along.
- Initiative: Party [1d6] = 2 vs. Monsters [1d6] = 3 Skull monster wins. However it's stuck in the door.
- Bruno gets a plus because the skull can't dodge being stuck in the doorway.

"Do you have any pitons to wedge it shut at all? I left mine in my other purse." the gnome says sheepishly with a wink.

"Well there's a tunnel in there, but there is a floating head of death in the way!" he calls up the shaft.
