"I would be willing to consult with them," Zaki grimaces as she stretches her right arm over her head. Donovan pulls up the star map and looks at the trade indicators. "Going Rimward there isn't much trading variety until we get to Vilis. Of course there isn't much variety if we go to trailing either. My thought was we could drop off our injured low passenger at Regina. Doubling back is a good idea though. I'll need to factor the needed cargo space into my trading."

Donovan nodded to Flighty. "I should be able to sell everything but the dust spice at a profit. I will play the rest by ear once we hit dirt side."terrymixon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 11:36 am“We’ll eventually find a spot to drop them off. Donovan raised his eyebrows and was silent for a moment as he thought. After bit he nodded and smiled. "We'll drive them crazy trying to track us. I think we should all use our false identification."terrymixon wrote: ↑Sat Oct 12, 2024 11:33 pm“Good plan. We’ll let you play captain this time around. Need 12+
Flighty: [2d6+2]=11+2=13
Zaki: [2d6+4]=7+4=11
Sigrun: [2d6+4]=7+4=11
Donovan: [2d6+3]=9+4=12
Karcsi: [2d6+3]=7+3=10
One night near the end of this jump, Flighty wakes up from a pleasant dream with the firm conviction that he needs to go to world called Risek. He has no idea where Risek is, nor why he needs to go there, but he feels like it's important to him. Frowning, it occurs to him that nobody needs to know this...no, it's Bob that doesn't need to know this.
Donovan is relaxing in his stateroom one day when he reaches out for his drink. The glass is beyond his reach, but rather than lean over and strain to reach it he just holds his hand out. The glass slowly floats toward his outstretched hand and nestles in his grip. It's only after he has had a drink and gone back to the book he was reading that he looks down at the glass in his hand and realizes something strange just happened.

Flighty gets up and goes through the library data. It isn't much to look at. Eleven jumps to get there with two leading into empty space.Eris wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2024 7:54 pm Need 12+

He has no idea where Risek is, nor why he needs to go there, but he feels like it's important to him. Frowning, it occurs to him that nobody needs to know this...no, it's Bob that doesn't need to know this.
Then he thinks about Bob. Why is it important to keep Bob from finding out? Yes, he still suspects they have a spy aboard but has no proof. Is this a reasonable suspicion or just part of a dream?
The psionics he's experienced so far have been real. What if this is, too? It would be the first hard nudge that there really was someone aboard who wasn't to be trusted. Trust his instincts or not?
He sighed and dressed. Even though it was late, he made his way to Karsci, Zaki, Sigrun, and Donovan's cabins, rapping lightly so as not to wake either of the engineers. "It's late and I'm sorry, but I need you to come back to my cabin. Something has happened and we need to discuss it privately."
Assuming everyone comes, he'll secure the door and quietly explain what he just felt and the explicit warning that he shouldn't tell Bob. "It wasn't a dream. It was an impulse that seemingly came with no details. It feels like more than just me wanting to do something, and I'd never even heard of Risek before. It felt like a directive. I think it's more than an impulse, and I think the warning about Bob could be, too. Thoughts?"

"We have all had weird things happening recently, ever since the monolith, hold on,"
Karcsi fiddles with his hand comp.
"Here's one world, if I'm spelling it right, 9 parses from Regina, trailing.
13 from where we are heading."
