Re: Chapter 2 - The First Foray
There is pig! Hyde declares. I have lost a few arrows, would like to replace them, if it be okay, hah? A pouch full of silva be all I need, until time to be training. I think I'll be staying out here for a few days, yeahh. Guffy don't mind waiting for his Orc scalp, I think. You tell him I got it tho, hah?

OK, just asked for a private forum for those staying out. I assume someone will be holding Hyde's share for him?

Re: Chapter 2 - The First Foray
Eduard hands the arrows to Hyde. As he's standing there, he realizes how alive he's felt in the last few days. He makes a quick decision.
"On second thought, I think I'll tag along. I'm no worse for wear."
He will hang onto the rations, but if anyone needs extras as we go, just say the word. He has plenty.

OK. Hyde has the coins and Eduard the gems. Those heading back will want to fund training if they qualify, so please work out who takes them (if Ed andcHyde are willing to give them up).

Eduard hands the gems to Jaspar.
"Perhaps you might know a place where you can sell these at a good price?"

Yenny "I can take the coins. Where would you to get them? I can hold them, or leave them with somebody you trust. I think I will be a week in town, at least."
Re: Chapter 2 - The First Foray
Arlandria accepts the other half of Chet's rations and thanks him. (+2 rations) She also packages up any rations from Sev, thanks him, and puts them on Applehead. (how many?) She checks one last time with each member, collecting any additional arrows or rations offered. She defers the sack of coins to Yana, who is larger and sturdier than the diminutive scout.

Re: Chapter 2 - The First Foray
Sev looks at the entire group, seeking the person who is most in need of healing.
I could do a small healing blessing from Veles before we depart.
Not sure how many days travel we have to get back to town. Is it 2?

Eduard looks around at those going and those staying behind.
"We should maybe discuss the general direction and scope of our travel before we part company. That way if we don't come back, the others will have a general idea of where to find whatever might be left of us." This last he delivers with a rueful chuckle.

Ilfrien nods in agreement."South," she says simply, pointing that way. "You'll know our course by the trail of the dead."

Known Spells in Effect: None

Those who derive magic powers from the divine pray. Yana is finished after a half hour. The groups bid each other farewell; those returning to Alleborg provide some sustenance for those continuing on. Hyde transfers the coinage won from the nixies to Yenny. Eduard gives the gems to Jaspar. Chet carries the coins and weapons taken from their orc encounter. All promise to save their shares for the group when they return.
Sev looks over those staying in the wilderness. He sees Hyde in need of some healing, and lays his hands on the half-orc.
The party announce plans to catch an old road that runs south and depart southeast through the woods around 8:00. The party watches them recede from view, the leafless forest seeming to swallow them. Yenny continues her prayers a little while longer and the group of four prepare to return to Alleborg.
For those continuing on to the road:

Date: 18 Rituals, Year 41
Time: 16:15
Conditions: 38F, cloudy and windy, 15 mph from the west; -1 penalty per 40' increment on missile weapons
Known Spells in Effect: None
Light bearers: Sun
Intended direction of travel: Back to Alleborg via the Lynx River; 8.3 miles traveled today
Yenny soon realizes the extra weight of the coin hinders her progress. She gives a sack each to Sev and Chet. The retrace their path along the river and after a couple hours find themselves at the Perimeter again. They hustle back to town and make it about 10 minutes after complete darkness falls. The guards at the west gate ask the party to show any new wealth. Despite producing the coins, weapons and gems, the guards thoroughly search Jaspar and Chet to make sure they're not smuggling anything.
Satisfied, the guards take the 7% from the coins and three of the spears from the weapons. They are astonished by the gems, and the party can tell they want to ask questions. Protocol must forbid them from doing so. The head guard says to you "We'll send these gems off for appraisal. See the gnome at The Family Jewels tomorrow to collect them. He'll withhold the Alleborg tax for us. Everyone does their part."
The party is exhausted and heads to Six Steps from the Gutter for a private room. The next morning the four party members head to the jeweler and find that the value of the gems is...[see private threads, those adventuring obviously shouldn't know this]
You can roleplay the sale if you want or just take his offer, but please don't mention the value in the public thread!
I will not dictate how treasure is split, but I also don't want it occupying days of our time. This should be relatively simple, so I'll put forth a suggestion here. Sell all items and split the proceeds. The only exception I've heard is Chet has expressed a desire for the crossbow.

Re: Chapter 2 - The First Foray
19 Rituals
Please deduct 1 day's rations and 5 sp for the night's lodging
The next morning, the party eagerly heads to The Family Jewels to determine the value of their gems. They find a happy, if slightly silly gnome. He offers his terms. Yenny, Chet and Sev all seem agreeable. Sev and Chet seem uninterested in the process. The old fisherman, however, finds the terms unsatisfactory. "I'm no fool. You're taking another 22% cut? Unacceptable."
The gnome seems taken aback, and the good cheer drains from his face. It's not replaced by anger, but more of a clinical, businesslike manner. "I, sir must make a living. In a town such as this, packed full of thieves, I must take measure to secure my property. This costs money. The onerous terms of my business also take their toll. You're welcome to try your luck at other establishments, but I doubt they'll match my deal. Or, you can just keep some of these beautiful stones."

Re: Chapter 2 - The First Foray
"I will say brother jeweler that the 7% tax and the 2% appraisal fee do not come anywhere near to adding up to the 30% cut you seem to be taking. Even using our gnomish accounting, I would expect to see at least #### from this. I'm glad you were paying attention - my mind had briefly wandered back to, oh , anyway - here we are. What say you brother?"

Re: Chapter 2 - The First Foray
Sev steps up to the gnome and smiles politely.
Although I care little for personal wealth, my friends here have risked life and limb for this loot. Are you sure that is the best you can offer?
Sev gives the little fellow a wink and a smile. (do I need to roll a reaction adjustment or does the little guy come succumb to Sev's beauty?)
