Sanu hates killing beautiful beasts like Tigers, but the Tiger hasn't left them with many options. He runs up and takes a whack at the BIG cat:
Attack: [1d20+3] = 14+3 = 17 Dmg: [1d8+4] = 8+4 = 12 That's more like it!

Tiger Attack
The party has bolted awake. Calen's dog has gone nuts. Titus and Garrett were on last watch and are the 1st to respond. 30 feet from the center of camp, a tiger attempts to make a meal of a draft horse. 5 horses have broken loose and bolted.

Garrett steps through the brush enough to get a bow shot. The rogue can see that the Tiger has easily killed a horse. The cat is huge. Garrett launches 2 arrows. He bats .500. The 1st arrow nicks the cats skin. The tiger has not taken notice.
But the tiger notices Titus who bravely charges the animal. The tiger jumps off of the horse and dodges the Warrior of Westmarch.
Montego lets arrows fly. One of which puts a notch in the cat's ear.
Up from their beds and through the brush come Baruch, Calen and Sanu. The 3 men encompass the cat and attack. The tiger is quick and difficult to strike. Calen's attack provides a distraction and Sanu's obsidian axe makes a deep gash in the cat's hind quarter -- it growls and hisses. Baruch's eyes get big enough to take in the whole cat -- bigger than most alters, the priest thinks.
Fredricus and Svent take in the scene, ready to assist if needed.
Milli the elf has mounted a horse, bare-back, and gone after the others.
The cat is willing to to defend the horse carcass as 4 men encircle the beast.

Montego shouts This animal is only hungry and the horse is already doomed! If we back away and leave him to his meal, we will not have to kill this majestic creature!
Unless of course the animal is already injured beyond natural healing, in which case.....ATTACK!

Calen keeps an athletic pose, ready to spring towards or away from the creature, "Was going to kill a horse for it anyway before we left, it is not getting in the way of the mission, doesn't need to die." He will wait for the others to respond, if they are all of an opinion then he will back off, get his things ready in very quick order, and move out.
If the others decide it must die, then he will strike out.

Upon hearing the plan to let the Tiger live, Sanu feels guilty for dealing it such a mighty blow. He sinks back behind the front line of the party, careful to remain on the defense and not turn his back on Le Tigre.

Garrett will let fly two more arrows.

I feel like we should finish the job. The tiger attacked our mounts, and that makes it a danger to anyone else taking this road.
Titus attacks again.
Attack with Spear: [1d20+3] = 8+3 = 11
Attack with Spear: [1d20+3] = 15+3 = 18
Spear Melee Damage: Size S/M: [1d6+6] = 1+6 = 7 Size L: [1d8+6] = 6+6 = 12

"Not going near that furshluggin' feline again!" Baruch, still peeved at his critical hammerblunder earlier, for some odd reason chooses to blame the target. No roll this round

Montego reluctantly fires another round of arrows.
Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
Tiger Attack
round 3
Confusion about how to handle the cat makes the party's attack less effective. Sanu and Baruch take a few steps back. Calen does the same but then arrows from Garrett and Montego fly toward the cat. Garrett's arrow thuds into the cat's body. Montego's is lost in the woods.
The cat rushes Calen. Calen swings at the approaching cat, but almost drops his pole arm. The tiger is likewise ineffective. Calen fends off two claw attacks.
But the cat whips around to bite Titus. Simultaneously, Titus attacks. The cat and the warrior of Westmarch tango. The cat's bite cuts Titus (-2 hp) a split second before Titus thrusts a spear into the cat's shoulder -- blood spurts.
The injured cat circles the group, looking for a safe escape. But it feels hemmed in and takes a defensive posture next to the dead horse, again.
Arrows from Garrett and Montego again thud into the cat. She screams and swats at the air -- a half dozen wounds bleed.

Calen approaches the large cat, seeing this as a waste of time and needlessly killing the animal that he was going to leave a horse for anyway, decides that it's time to end it and brings his halberd down upon the animal.
Halberd(Specialized): [1d20+1] = 13+1 = 14, Damage: S/M[1d10+5] = 8+5 = 13, L[1d12+5] = 12+5 = 17
The wolf also goes in for the kill.
Calen's Wolf: (HP 16, AC 7) To Hit: [1d20] = 13, Damage: [1d4+1] = 4+1 = 5

Svent stands up and fires off a magic missile at the Tiger. He directs the missile at the tigers nose.

Garrett fires off two more arrows at the beast "Incoming watch for arrows lads!" he warns his friends this time.

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
Sanu sees the life running out of the poor tiger after a barrage of landed blows and arrows. He attacks only to show mercy. He sprints at the beast, cuts left, and throws a fall-away, left-handed axe blow to the tiger's neck as he runs by:
SANU THE BUNGLING BARBARIAN!!!
Attack: [1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4 Dmg: [1d8+4] = 7+4 = 11
BIG WHIFF!
[1d100] = 95
Somehow, Sanu catches himself from falling backward and manages a second swing on the tigger:
Attack: [1d20+3] = 20+3 = 23 Dmg: [1d8+4] = 1+4 = 5
ridiculous...DM...ACTIONS?!!!

Montego, seeing that this beautiful creature has neared its last breath because of the blood lust of some of his new companions, puts his bow away and hangs his head in disgust. He can't watch any more of this senseless killing. and because he dosent want to accidentally hit any of these said companions

After the battle Calen will put his Halberd away and look at how many horses remained and how close the ones that ran off are, "We have wasted too much time on this...unnecessary..."

Re: Queen Regeina's Ethical Philosophers Depart.
Tiger Attack
round 4
The tiger lunges at Calen, bloodied, in desperation, it flails and fails to get a hold of the fighter.
A bolt of magic energy, arrows and several weapon blows strike the cat down.

Calen's wolf has cat guts for breakfast.
Milli has captured the 5 loose horses with in 10 minuets.
Julia and Livia take their 50 gp and their horses. Livia tells Montego to look her up next time he's in Ciccur; mounts her horse and blows the ranger a kiss.
The party gets back on the road.
A family of 4 encounters the party at noon and offers 50 gp for 2 draft horses.
The party passes only war refugees along the way. No traffic by merchants. The war has stopped the pulse of life.
The rancher philosophers travel for an entire day without incident. They cover 15 miles and break for camp. The Chill River is less than a day's travel from tonight's camp. Passers bye tell of a ferryman who can get the horses across.
ANY ACTIONS??? sell some horses?

Calen sells the two draft horses for 50g as long as no one stops him, his reasoning being they are not needed.
plan is to camp here and go to the ferry tomorrow or hoof it the rest of the way and get on the ferry tonight?
