Wick nods "Me too. Master Naerumar, do you any other enchanted items that might be for sale?"

To be clear, the trade would be for either the cloak or the wand, not both. I worded that wrong, sorry.

Orest says, What did you have in mind? I don't have anything here, other than these two items, that aren't promised to another customer but I have friends in other towns that may have what you seek.

Wick

The cultist smiles "As simple adventurers we are always interested in weapons and armour. I'm sure my sister would love an enchanted bow."

[Rex]

"Yes always interested in anything useful. If we trade for one of the items, how much for the other?"

[sulldawga]

Orest's forehead crinkles as he thinks about the request.

Finally, he says, I don't like to sell enchanted items for coin. Coin is easy to find, magic much less so.

He taps his finger on his lips pensively. Tell you what. I have a proposition for you. I have an item of some value that needs transport to Harken, two days travel from here. There have been reports of goblin attacks along the King's Road, and I am loathe to lose this item to banditry. The Dragonslayers of Kobold Hall will make for a fine security force.

If you escort this item to my friend in Harken, Zenil Elf-friend, I will gift you whichever item you don't receive in our trade. I will also write a letter of introduction for you to give to Zenil. As his name implies, he has contacts with the Woodsinger Clan in the Harken Forest and he may be able to obtain an elven bow from them for you.

The cultist nods "I am happy with that proposition."

Thea smiles "I'm in too. That cloak would come in very handy in my line of work." Thea looks at the others "Do we want to keep the jewellery? It's worth a lot and easily transportable."

"I am good with your proposal as well."

Orest smiles broadly at the group.

Very good, then. If you'd like to leave the drum with me, you can choose the item you'd like in trade. I will give you the other one once you've returned after delivering my item to Harken. Why don't you make any preparations you need to do, and return on the morrow to begin your trip?

Are you taking the cloak or the wand first?
Are you selling anything to Orest?
Are you carrying the silver ingots and the silver coins from the Lord Warden with you?
Do you want to buy anything else before you leave?

"Leaving in the morning sounds like an excellent idea."


I think we should take the cloak first, but then again Thea is biased as she really wants it.
I suggest we keep the jewellery as easily transportable money, we don't need it right now.
I suggest we leave the silver coin and ingots with the church.
I need to think about buying anything else.

"How long is the trip to Harken likely to take? We'll need to make sure we have enough rations."

[Rex]

Senorix

"We will need to purchase some basic supplies at the least. Now that we have some coin maybe some extras would be nice."

Incendiary oil (if they have it), holy water, etc.

Wick

"Now is the time to consider acquiring some horses. It would make the journey quicker and we can carry more."

[Rex]

Senorix

"Yeah, that is an excellent idea. We should see what we can afford."

[shaidar]

We can see what riding and war horses are available and the prices. We can use the silver we have and if needed get more from church or leave what left over there.

[Rex]

Sounds like a plan then.

"We need to buy rations for everyone. I'm thinking we need enough for six days each to cover getting there and back."

"Good idea. I will pitch in of course."

Note that you don't need to worry about the dwarves' rations; they handle that themselves. However, the crossbowmen don't have a melee weapon so you'd need to buy them one each if you wanted that ability.

Anything else besides rations?

Getting them each a melee weapon is a good idea. Mace or axe maybe.
