The kobolds are on top of a 10 foot ledge. Are you attempting to climb the ledge to attack or are you hoping to force the doors?

Combat Round 1
Thea begins the attack with an arrow that hits one of the kobolds square in the eye, killing it instantly. With a shout, the other PCs rush into the room and attempt to climb up on the platforms. Senorix and Dain are successful; Dagr and Wick either lose their grip or are kicked off by the kobolds. Once he is up on top, Senorix proceeds to absolutely murder another kobold. Dain was aiming to attack the kobold Thea killed, and attempts to change targets, but the kobold is too slippery.
The two remaining kobolds on the platform fight back. One stabs Dain in the leg, causing him to howl in pain. Senorix is tempted to howl as well when the other kobold finds a weak spot in his armor and stabs him with a spear.
On the ground, Dagr and Wick barely have time to get into fighting stances before the doors are flung open and three more kobolds attack. One misses Dagr but the other two successfully slice and dice Wick, to the point where the pain of his wounds cause him to drop his mace. One of the kobolds deftly kicks it away from him and it spins into the pit of green sludge, sinking out of sight.

I was re-reading the rules for Moving and it does say "A move incorporates minor necessary conduct such as opening doors, climbing ladders, swinging from a rope, etc." So I guess we can have your PCs jump up on the ledge, if they pass a STR (Athletics) check. I am not going to bother having Dain make a check though.

Wick grimaces in pain, and seeing his weapon out of his reach he calls to his god and utters the prayer for Thunderous Invocation attempting to catch as many enemies as he safely can.

Combat Rounds 2 & 3
Despite taking some hits in the initial clash, the party gets back on the front foot and takes it to the remaining kobolds.
Dagr stabs one in the heart and it falls dead. Another manages to get its spear in front of Senorix's blade but the fighter's great strength allows him to cleave both shaft and kobold in half. Thea's next arrow misses its target but the kobold dodges directly into Dain's jaws and gets its throat ripped out.
Wick speaks a single Word of Faith and a thunderous wave of sound erupts from his holy symbol and blasts the two kobolds in front of him. Everyone's ears are ringing from the vibrations. Both of the kobolds stumble back a few steps in disarray. One falls unmoving but the other, blood streaming from its nostrils, steels itself and thrusts out its spear at Wick, only to see him easily dodge the attack.
Surprisingly, the dwarf in the pit manages to grab Wick's mace before it sinks into the emerald-hued goo, despite being almost completely submerged, and tosses it up out of the pit!
Between the four of you and Dain the bloodthirsty wolf, the final kobold is dispatched. As you all stop to catch your breath, the dwarf says, Oi! Someone toss me a line, eh?

The pit is six feet deep to the top of the sludge so it will be difficult to just reach down and grab the dwarf, never mind pull him out. Senorix could attempt to hold Dagr's feet and lower him into the pit where he can grab the dwarf.

The dwarf you fish out of the sludge pit is named Orok and he's quite possibly the ugliest dwarf you've ever seen. He explains that he was a caravan guard that was captured by the kobolds and dragged back here to their lair a week ago. He's starving, having had nothing to eat the entire time, and he looks like the kobolds have been torturing him for a while. He's covered in bruises and half-healed cuts.
Scattered on the floor in a small pile on the left platform are 100 sp, a small ruby, and two small garnets. In the corner of the right platform is Orok's chain shirt and well-notched battle axe.
