The now opened hidden door exposes a dust-cloaked, 20-foot-wide hall which is lined with six alcoves; three to the north and three to the south.
From your current position, the inside of the nearest alcoves on either side are visible, and each contains a humanoid figure -- resembling tall elves in plate armor -- carved of red-veined white marble. The remaining alcoves, while not fully visible, appear to hold the same.
A stone archway on the opposite end of this 50-foot-long hall opens into a wide room from which greenish light glows.
What appears to be an exposed, 10-foot-wide dark pit is situated before the archway.

As soon as the secret door swung open, a bit of excitement ran through Aubron. He was getting the sense more and more that this is a magical place and could very well hold the secret to the apple that he sought. Perhaps my quarry was in this place, too, he thought.
He entered the room and took up a position in the Northeast corner. Utilizing his keen elven senses, he tried to see make out the details of the room and if anything seemed out of place.

Sky stands to admire the dragon sculpture, aware of the value of such a creation. When she reluctantly moves into the next room and sees the statues of Elves in the same material she comments "There you go Kelben. Elves. The answer was elves."
She takes a step into the room, crouches down and gets really quiet. She seems to be listening for something.

The dragonborn sorcerer stands just outside the secret door. I'll just stay out here for now, if nobody minds. Everything else I approach seems to do something, and I'd prefer to not make the elven statues come to life or some such nonsense. After admiring the craftsmanship of the dragon sculpture in the previous room, Sky joins Auborn and Kelben in the alcove room, and upon spotting the elf sculptures crafted of the same material, says to the gnome: "There you go Kelben. Elves. The answer was elves." The half-cat crouches down and gets really quiet; listening intently, but hearing nothing except the soft footfalls of her companions shuffling around the room.
Kelben agrees with Sky that it makes sense that the sculptures are of elven creation. He creeps a bit further into the room, hugging the wall to the left, and positions himself between the two occupied alcoves on that side. The rogue notices that the dust in the space in front of the open alcove is disturbed by tracks, but the tracks are filled in enough that the disturbance must have occurred dozens of years ago.

Aubron moved to the edge of the pit and relied on his darkvision to make out any details of it. He also tried to answer the question of how the creatures got into it.

We can climb down, and even the tallest of us could probably hold on to the ledge and drop down a few feet. But, this pit still troubles me. If this is meant to be a trap, then should it not be covered? A pit in the open like this is quite easy to get around. Perhaps it has already been sprung. And who or what went down there? I think there is only one way to find out. There are places to put your hands and feet to descend safely, but careful of those spikes.

Kelben "So we're gonna go raid a tomb? Fair enough. I'll go next but I'll wait until you make it safely back up the other side of the pit. I imagine Sky will simply just leap over the pit." the gnome adds with a little bit of a sly sarcasm and a jesting wink to Aubron "Wanna place a bet on it." the gnome smiles. Then will make his way down and through the spiked pit taking the same path Aubron pointed out.
