Nunyet feels the hammer is poorly ([1d20] = 6) thrown as it leaves his hand. Inwardly kicking himself he'll drop the rest of his throwing hammers, take out his war hammer and charge up to the attack. His war cry: "Bacon!"
Not even going to roll damage. :x

Kurn sneaks off toward the right flank and around to come in behind them. When he gets close enough to melee, he strikes with the newly acquired dagger.

Dagger Attack: [1d4] = 1 damage | [1d20] = 17 from thaco22 = AC 5

I didn't add any bonuses for backstab or from behind.

After calling out to wake those that were sleeping while moving over to the edge of camp, Brok holds his position with weapons ready. He's hoping that Cis can use his druid powers or that the mere sudden presence of the others might ward the beasts off, but will be ready with drawn longsword and dagger if it comes to it. "There were at least two more of the beasts chasing a... little man through the brush!"

If the boars attack, the young agent will swing his longsword and dagger in his and his companion's defense!

(Primary Hand)
To Hit: Longsword (-2 dual-wielding penalty/+2 from Dex bonus):
[1d20] = 19 (hits ac1)

Longsword damage vs sm/med creatures:
[1d8] = 7

(Secondary Hand)
To Hit: dagger @ -2 (-4 dual-wielding penalty/+2 from Dex bonus):
[1d20-2] = 2-2 = 0

Sorry I haven't posted earlier, been away away for a few days.

Yarl jumps up out of his slumber with a stream of curses.
He whips his short sword out of his sheath and moves to engage the nearest target.

Short sword attack #1
1d20 = 19 +2 to hit = 21
[1d20] = 19

Damage
1d6 = 4 +4 (dmg and spec) = 8
[1d6+4] = 4+4 = 8

Short sword attack #2
1d20 = 1 (SHITTTTTT!)
[1d20] = 1

Day 2 – middle of the night
Round 1 - Battle of the boars

Simultaneous initiative, yet Francisco goes first with his crossbow. (so to answer Alethan's question: yes.)

You all see now that the beasts bearing down on your friends are wild boars. The largest one, attacking Zin, is really pissed off. :)

Francisco’s crossbow bolt meets its mark, doing 7 points of damage to the large boar bearing down on Zin. Nunyet’s hammer lands short of its target by a few feet.

Cis quickly prepares his ‘hold animal’ spell, but before he can cast it, Brok and the boar on him simultaneously attack, as does Zin and his boar. Brok’s attack hits, doing 7 points of damage, and the boar attacking him misses. Zin’s attack misses (just barely), while the tusks of the boar on him gouge deep into Zin, knocking him down and unconscious

The third boar attacks Brok, getting a tusk into his calf for 6 points of damage.

Unfortunately, Kurn and Yarl are not close enough to melee attack, but I’ll use your rolls for the next round.

Cis’ spell goes off, and, all of a sudden, two of the three boars are immobilized. The one not affected by the spell is the one attacking Brok.

Francisco can get off another crossbow bolt at the end of this round (now) if he wants (I'm sure he does). He'd be firing into melee, but I'll give a slight bonus on that if he targets one of the immobilized boars. Next round, he'll get one attack. Please remind me if anyone else get's 3/2 attacks.

Sorry for the delay. I just finished a two-day project so real life should be easier for a while now (fingers crossed)
HPs - Francisco:21/21, Cis:24/24, Nunyet:25/25, Kurn:9/9, Brok:10/16, Yarl:30/30

ooc: what is Zin doing fighting? Can I make a standing order that my hirelings will avoid all confrontations unless they are cornered and have no other choice? Sorry if that wasn't clear before...

Francisco will chance one more shot before dropping his crossbow and drawing his sword and setting his shield.

Trying to play it safe, and going after the largest of the three, he fires at the same boar as before (the one on Zin).

To Hit, Light Crossbow [1d20+3] = 9+3 = 12 (Hits AC6)

In case that hits...

Damage, Light Crossbow [1d4+3] = 2+3 = 5
Dragon foot. Bamboo pole. Little mouse. Tiny boy.

Sorry. I was under the impression that he was around to fight as well, but I'll remember your request in the future.

Francisco's second crossbow attack hits.

Not really a big deal, ToniXX.

I do always outfit hirelings with a weapon and armour, but that's just a) a morale thing (it should help increase their morale, anyway) and b) in case it becomes absolutely necessary for them to fight. I'd rather not pay them out a fighting bonus! :)

Guess we're starting Round 2, then?

Initiative [1d6] = 4

Francisco drops his crossbow and draws his sword. This time, however, he goes after the boar that is still moving around.

To Hit, Longsword [1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21

(nice...)

Damage, Longsword (S/M) [1d8+3] = 2+3 = 5
Dragon foot. Bamboo pole. Little mouse. Tiny boy.

Yes, round two starts after we hear from Nunyet. As I said, I'll take Kurn and Yarl's actions from the previous round for this one.

Seeing that Cis has used his druid powers to hold two of the wild boars, and knowing that Francisco and the others are moving to dispatch the lone remaining beast, Brok makes a withdrawl to stabilize his wounds, counting on Francisco and the others being engaged to cover his retreat.

Before the young agent tends to his wounds, he'll take a quick reconnoiter about the campground, looking for the "little man" he saw, as well as the other beasts.

I'm attacking the moving boar, if I need to charge that's +2 to hit and the appropriate penalties to AC (+1 I think). If not then it's just hammer-time.
Nunyet hears the sizzle of the boars going from the frying pan into the... wait, no, no, stay in the frying pan!
Nunyet brings his war hammer to bear on the boar: Heavy war hammer damage: [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5, to hit: [1d20+1] = 19+1 = 20

Day 2 – middle of the night
Round 2 - Battle of the boars

Boar initiative: [1d6] = 3
Francisco’s attack with the longsword hits. The boar is bleeding heavily, and madder than heck!

Kurn is able to get behind the beast and plunges his dagger into its hefty body.

Yarl attacks it with his short sword, finally felling the dread creature. It slumps to the ground with a grunt.

At the same time, Nunyet’s hammer comes down, crushing the things skull, ensuring that it will not live again!

Cis says "These other two will remain held for another four minutes or so. We should dispatch of them or vacate the area" He then moves over to Zin, examines his wounds and says Our friend here showed great bravery and took a terrible blow. He needs help with his wounds. He reaches into his belt pouch and pulls out a sprig of nightshade, puts his hand on the fair lad's wounds, and mutters in druid cant.

Cis Cure light wounds on Zin [1d8] = 5

Zin's eyes flutter open, as he puts his focus on the face of the druid. He's startled at first, unaware of his location, but then catches his breath and memory. He thanks the druid for his help. Cis stands up and says 'this one will be fine, but needs rest. We must care for him for the next few days. If anyone else has a cure spell, he could use another one.'

HPs - Francisco:21/21, Cis:24/24, Nunyet:25/25, Kurn:9/9, Brok:10/16, Yarl:30/30

Francisco wonders aloud, "Well, if we dispatch them, we could set up a little stand by the side of the road there and sell boar meat to passers-by for a few days! I'm sure a passing troop of soldiers would love the extra meat. I don't like the idea of setting them free, though. That plan might come back to bite us, so to speak. At the very least, we could leave the carcases by the side of the road for some travelers brave enough to start a fire and smoke the meat. Or... we could always do that in the morning with the big one here."

He stops abruptly.

"Speaking of big ones... did someone mention a little guy running around with two more boars chasing him?? If so, let's get a lantern going and whoever saw the guy last can show me where and maybe I can track him. After I reload my crossbow and get my armour on, of course... Tazarân! Get up and get a lamp going, boy! Why isn't it already lit, anyway? I'm not payin' you ta keep us all in the dark!"

"Kurn, Brok - you two want to handle the dispatching of the remaining boars? Oh! How did that dagger work for you, Kurn?"

While Tazarân gets a lamp lit, Francisco runs back to his sleeping area and dons his armour. Then he reloads his crossbow and waits for Brok to show him where the other person was spotted so he can try to track him.

Stepping out from the underbrush, Veneficus calmly steps into the ring of light provided by the campfire. He holds a short bow in one hand, but by his side rather than brandished, and no arrow is notched. He raises his other hand in greeting.

"My apologies," he says in a smooth, almost melodic voice. "It seems I was set upon by wild boar, in more numbers than I could handle alone. Seeing the size of your camp, I presumed you could readily dispatch a few with little difficulty."

Veneficus then looks toward the wounded figure, now being tended to by the druid, and frowns. "Though perhaps I was mistaken."
