Kiraz, the west gate.
Date Unknown. Late-day.

After examining the tracks they are quickly lost. Likely that they traveled some distance over rocks, leaving no evidence of there passage. But they start out heading perpendicular to your route so hopefully away from where you are going. You continue on your journey, covering as much ground as you can at this slow moving pace. As the time approaches to start looking for camp Algrim and Ingram spot a dark shape circling high above them, recognizing it as a Wyvern. A feared aerial predator of the mountains. Everyone else except Beryl also notice it at the same time but are unable to tell what it is right away.

Actions

Algrim and Ingram rolled CS for Awareness. GreyWolfVT, please make a skill improvement roll. 1d100+13, a 67 or higher and your Awareness goes up to 67.

Lharzin waves them under a tree, then begins encanting to thicken the the tree's canopy with enough leaves to make it opaque from above.

Mountains near Kiraz, Wyvern above.
Date Unknown. Dusk.

Some quick thinking and moving takes place and everyone ends up under a small stand of 3 old hemlocks. Lharzin gets her spell off and the trees seem to fluff out even more as everyone tries crawling deeper under the cover of the trees. The wyvern circles above for another 5 very long feeling minutes and then starts to widen its circles out over a larger and larger area. By the time it feels safe to crawl out from under the hemlocks the sun is setting and night will be fast upon you.

Mountains near Kiraz, Wyvern above.
Date Unknown. Dawn.

Everyone decides to spend the night camped out under the hemlocks. It is a cool night with no fire in the mountains but you are sheltered from the wind and the old needles under the trees make for a fine and comfy bed. Overall considering your close call, not a bad not at all. You awake in the morning fully rested and ready for another day.

Any special precautions or change in plans before you continue your journey in search of another entrance?

Lharzin will continue foraging as we go, otherwise focused on using her knowledge of Dwarfholm secrets to find the door.

Mountains near Kiraz.
Date Unknown. A little after noon.

After a simple breakfast and checking for tracks everyone sets out. Trying your best to keep an eye out in the skies above and look for ways in below you make slow progress. Then a little after noon, with the sun still high in the sky you reach the top of a ridge, looking ahead you see movement far off in the distance. Perhaps a half a mile or a little more away. On the next major ridge line ahead of you. Southeast of you.

Murgar, "I will try something, give me a few minutes."
He sits down and starts to chant softly.

Everyone takes the time to study the movement ahead and to look around closer. Beryl and Lharzin both notice a cleft in the earth about 300 paces to your left (northeast). Something about it looks out of place, like it is not natural.

Murgar Violet Eye (65) [1d100]=91
Murgar grumbles and keeps working.
Murgar Violet Eye (60) [1d100]=3
after 18 minutes (2 attempts) Murgar stops and says "It is an Orc colony ahead."

Fisk, "Looks like a lot of them scurrying around. We best avoid that mess."

He is correct, there are many of them moving about, perhaps some livestock and dogs or maybe wolves too.

(Can we reach the cleft without undue exposure to orcs on the orcs on the opposite ridge?)

"Beryl... your surveying knowledge may be best served here. I can also try to discern any enchantment that hides the door... which would coincidentally reveal the door."

The cleft is northeast about 300 yards away. The Orc colony is southeast over a half mile away. The colony is at a lower elevation then you are so you are looking down at it from above. The cleft is sort of in a gully, well hidden. You would be out of sight of the Orcs for the entire move to the cleft.
