Lurkers From Beyond (ooc and questions V)
Re: Lurkers From Beyond (ooc and questions V)
Once Hoom has recovered his belongings at the farmhouse he takes back his inheritance, which Mouser was holding on to. He then ask Mouser if he would like to continue on with him to Hookhill and beyond. If not he goes on alone, leaving directly from the farmhouse, ie exits the game.
Inferno I may or may not come back with a new character but I'm retiring Hoom.
Have fun.

Grothnak is in! The new adventure will be an extraplanar adventure with a battle involving the Army of Gruumsh, right?
Or, hey, Grothnak's long-lost twin brother.
(Or a new PC. Yeah, I could do that too.)

Ingrid is in. This was a lot of fun, and I look forward to whatever horrors await our intrepid band in the future. Have fun on the vacation, Inferno!

Urdur is in! Looking forward to further adventures in August.

How do we know you're not a donkey-brained man?
Re: Lurkers From Beyond (ooc and questions V)
Well, I'm back.
Thanks everyone for your incredible patience. Let's get back to the horrific fun!
So far, everyone wants to keep playing, except maybe Dads. Dads, final answer please?
I'll work the waitlist via PMs to fill out the rest of the party.
Once the new characters are written up and approved, we'll get this going again. (see post to follow on new characters)
Thanks everyone! Looking forward to getting back into it.

For new players and old:
While this is turning into a campaign, it isn't a sandbox. I'm starting a new module that happens to take place in the same terrible world as Briarsgate. Even though old characters are welcome, new players need not review past posts or concern themselves with game history. Thanks!

Also:
This super-kind comment from Scott308 is a good reminder that this game is a Lovecraftian, horror/fantasy mashup of swords and sorcery and Call of Cthulhu. As we saw with Briarsgate, the tone is downright oppressive, doom-laden, bleak and harrowing. Just a friendly reminder, in case that isn't your cup of tea. Otherwise, I'll soon be ready to pour.Scott308 wrote: I played a decent amount of Cthulhu at Gary Con, and this game is more sanity warping than games that were designed to do that. This might be the best Call of Cthulhu game I've played.

Thanks!

Hi,
Slightly updated Character Creation guidelines can be found here, for new characters joining the new adventure. You can also use that thread to discuss character ideas among yourselves.
Once you have a character sheet completely filled out, please load it here for DM approval. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
DadsAngry is bowing out of the horrific proceedings. Thanks for playing, Dads. It was great having you.
For those players introducing new characters (Ale, Rusty, Zhym and perhaps one more), here are the classes we already have in the party, fyi:
Cleric: 1 (Ingrid)
Druid: 1 (Bo)
Fighter: 1 (Telkis)
Ranger: 1 (Brevos)
Paladin: 0
Magic-User: 1 (Mouser)
Illusionist: 1 (Urdur)
Thief: 1 (Mouser)
Monk: 0
Also, it's likely the new PCs will be encountered away from Briarsgate, on the way to the next adventure. Perhaps they already know each other? Up to you guys.

Re: Lurkers From Beyond (ooc and questions V)
I'm glad to see Zhym and Alebelly are returning!
I have been planning to bring in a human or elf fighter. Just deciding on my stats. Taking a 2 handed (or bastard) sword with a strength 18 is very tempting, but I'm open to suggestions. I am happy to go with any class needed.
I'm happy to already be acquainted with the other new characters.

Welcome back, Inferno!
I'll probably roll up either a paladin or another half-orc. Maybe Nathgrok, Grothnak's half brother who thought all that Uruk business his kin got into was kind of silly.
