How's the game going so far? Suggestions, etc.? As you know I am quite a novice at running pbp!

Well for Blaive and Endor the game didn't go well at all. I think they both had such low hp that any hit was going to kill them.
Did Blaive actually roll a turn attempt? I thought a roll was posted but not sure what it related to.
Perhaps between Harker, Hector and Jacor we can agree the next step forward. What do we want to do?
1) return to this same place?
2) dig through some different Barrows?
3) explore the village and surroundings?
Also if we get two new characters to replace Endor and Blaive, what sort of mercenaries or torch bearer do we hire. (Quall the thief again? dwarf with a specialism for tunnels? A cleric who can turn undead?).

True, they were rather fragile. I was thinking more, like, is the game well-run.
You lost initiative, for one, and Blaive's roll was bad, for another; so the turn attempt failed, alas for Blaive and Endor.

As for game. The keys to pbp are the same as tabletop but you must keep the pace going. And it is not a linear dungeon crawl so players may express an interest in doing something unprepared. 'Let's explore the Keep', 'let's break into the church and steal their silver', 'let's find out more about the village elders and their politics', a character wants to build a new mage tower / chapel / forge or take over a section of the Barrows for a thieves guild' ...
Exploration, roleplay, combat.
Also if 'sanity' and losing it is going to be part of the campaign, them we should roleplay that around town (getting the tremors, prayer for deliverance, doing things that restore courage.)

Stats: STR:12, INT:16, WIS:10, DEX:10, CON:12, CHR:9
That's more like it! Switching WIS and INT gives me a pretty nice cleric!

Also, they qualify for every race in the book, so that's something to consider.

Yeah Blaive tried and failed his turn undead roll, alas he should've had the foresight to cast sanctuary first!
Can't believe I missed his death post, I've been all over the place lately.

Sanctuary would have given you a saving throw against each individual targeted attack, you might still have got hit. Also the spell would be negated by your turning as 'Turn Undead' is seen as an offensive action.

Hope folk didn't mind but I posted a suggestion to divvy the treasure in the rewards thread.

Sure I think that is good and keeps stuff simple.
So we deal with the bodies first then sell the jars and then recruit others.
ooc: how are the new characters getting on?

I have a hard time finding the time/opportunity to read up on the two books to put the new character together

New character is up in the thread! I do have a question to get some clarification, as a Gnome he gets bonuses to his saving throws should I reduce my saving throw numbers or just add the bonus when I have to actually make the rolls?

Personally I adjust the Saving Throws to reflect my actual target but you could keep the original scores but post notes about bonuses or penalties in the little box below the score boxes.

It seems I can't find the time to cobble together a new character, so I will bow out. Thank you, it's been fun.

Is Bree-yark not playing anymore? Not been logged in since the last battle here in June.

I think I should probably call this game. I don't think the players are super invested and tbh neither am I. I'm just frustrated with how slow PbP is...kind of a "well duh" thing, I guess, but still.
