Horsefly

Horsefly skulks along the base of the wall, watching for any of the humans he can take potshots at.

Horsefly sticks to the back wall of the keep, slinking along until he sees the guard looking his way from the top of the NE tower. He raises his wand and shoots 2 missiles into the man, dropping him quickly and efficiently. The shaman isn't happy to see another guard quickly take the downed mans place, readying his wand again. Suddenly a long shard of blue ice in the shape of an arrow zips down from the top of the large central tower, hitting the goblin right in the top of his bulbous head. Save vs. Spells. please.

Ondrake tires to knock the guards off the central wall tower but his aim is off once again. This time he is hit with another bolt for his efforts, as the guards have now pinpointed his hiding spot. This one doesn't seem to hurt nearly as much for some reason though.

Othrod almost slips from the stairway....... Dex Check [3d6] = 4 ......but is able to catch himself last second. He and the orc trade ineffective blows at the top of the steps. Enraged as he has ever been before, all the huge bugbear can hear is the vicious mocking laughter coming from the backstabbing Shozbot trying to smash his head in from a few steps above him.

Ondrake gets pissed that he keeps missing hitting these little human gnats. He rages and throws again...

Boulder Bash (+3str) [1d20+3] = 5+3 = 8 / Brain Busting Damage [2d12+6] = 12+6 = 18

...and will then proceed to climb the wall to get his hands on the little bastards - personally.

Go Time! Round 17
Evening, Partly Cloudy, Warm

Horsefly feels cold once the icy missile hits him. He drops to the ground right where he once stood. He isn't sure if he is dead or not, but so far he hasn't seen any visions of Maglubiyet. (12 dam)

Ondrake tries throwing another chunk of rubble at the wall below the guards. He hits it. The lumbering giant suddenly remembers that strength, not finesse, is his strong suite, so he begins climbing up the wall to get at the humans. One of them leans over the side of the wall and plunks another bolt into the huge target with little affect. (He can climb the wall in one round, so he wont be able to attack until the following round.)

Othrod badly wants to kill this arrogant orc that keeps spitting on him when he talks. He can tell that Shozbot is under some kind of magical enhancement, but that isn't going to stop him. He swings his big blade again, narrowly missing the orc positioned squarely at the top of the steps. Normally one of the lesser monster races would have already backed down by now, but this crazed orc attacks the much larger bugbear again, also narrowly missing with his counter strike.

Go Time! Round 18
Evening, Partly Cloudy, Warm

Horsefly the goblin shaman sprawls, hoping to be thawed out before all the fun is over.

Ondrake climbs, reaching the top of the wall while being peppered by crossbow bolts from every angle. The guards on the battlements all flee once the giant breaches their defenses, running through doors where they know the behemoth wont be able to follow them. The giant makes an awfully large target for the crossbowmen on the other towers. Bolts continue to fly at him, and into him, as he reaches up for the guard on the tower above him.

Othrod stays quiet, chopping his halberd into the traitorous Shozbot on the stairway landing above him. The blow rips a huge gash into the side of the orc, but he simply continues fighting as if nothing happened. His counter with his hammer just misses the much larger bugbear once again. "Stand still and take what's coming to you, bugbear scum! You're no leader! You're nothing but a pretender!"

Go Time! Round 19

Othrod gets the jump on the scummy orc again, swinging as hard as he can with his halberd. In a strange turn of events, Shozbot doesn't even try to dodge the blow. He just takes it, point blank, as he attempts to outmaneuver his larger opponent. In fact he doesn't even grunt when the blade rips him open again. Whatever the bastard drank, it must be some powerful stuff.

Then the bugbear leader realizes why the orc wasn't trying to defend himself once his huge maul swings in a wide arc that hits him square in his huge chest. The blow knocks the wind form Othrod, causing him to fall and then subsequently drop from the open stairway to the stone floor below. As he slips into unconsciousness, all he can hear is the celebratory cheering from the traitor still at the top of the steps. 8 dam

The guard on top of the central tower starts shouting orders to the others about monsters breaching the inner courtyard and running amok. That's when Ondrake the giant reaches up and grabs him in his massive fist. The guard screams incoherently as the giant repeatedly smashes him into the stone wall until he is nothing more than a bloody, pulpy mess. More bolts tear into the giant from afar, but he takes each one of them with a short roar.

With 2 more monsters down now, I think I will wait for rav to return to see what Ondrake wants to do next. That will give the private players a chance to catch up as well. I will update again if one of the private guys does something that everyone can see.

As the giant grabs ahold of the guard on top of the wall tower, a man dressed all in blue begins to drop straight down from the upper levels of the central tower.

He is eventually followed by Thamansa the bugbear witch, flying down behind him and shouting.
Pulpatoon wrote: "Victory! Glory! Success in all things! Well done it, my pretties! Food for the demon, now and for generations to come! Time to stop yer fighting and hear terms!"
Floating softly to the ground, the blue clad human looks around and immediately rushes into the ground floor of his tower.

Go Time! Round 20
Evening, Partly Cloudy, Warm

As the giant continues to be pelted with crossbow bolts from every angle, the many guards begin to realize that none of them are hurting the huge monster. Ondrake continues to smash the guard in his grasp against the wall until there isn't much left of the poor bastard. Then he looks around for any others stupid enough to get in his way. The guards don't give the giant any more easy targets. The lone hill giant can no longer spot any of the monsters he came in here with either.

Thamansa rushes into the tower behind the mage, seeing a very bloodied Shozbot at the top of the steps, trying to bash in a wooden door, and her brother Ondrake unconscious on the floor at the bottom of the stairway. The blue mage commands the witch to go settle down the orc as he attends to the bugbear. Thamansa tests the shiny bracers given to her by her new friend, Xyxax Blu, but nothing happens. She slowly moves towards the steps on her way to Shozbot, while trying to remove the clearly broken armbands. Adding to her frustration now, she finds that she can not remove the bracers either. This is enough to cause her to use the final charge on her Wand of Negation. With a spark of magical light, she not only negates the power of the bands, allowing them to drop off of her easily, but she also negates any spell effect upon her. She knows that she will no longer be able to fly now, but she also feels something else happen. Maybe this blue wizard was lying to her. Why else would he give her armbands that she couldn't take off.

When she turns to confront the mage about it, she sees him draw out a dagger and slice open the throat of Ondrake. Now she knows the wizard was never really her friend. Shozbot continues to smash away at the door, apparently having no idea that there are others in the room. The wizard moves towards the other door.

Thamansa reaches into her bag of tricks and extracts a small furry ball. She rolls it down the stairs grinning wickedly.

Bag of Tricks: [1d24] = 2

The ball uncurls into a simple rat, much to Thamansa's disappointment. "Well," she addresses the rat. "Go bite the yaldson's ankle or something."

Hoping that Xyxax is too busy slitting her brother's throat to have noticed this act of betrayal, she acts as though she is dithering on the stairs, preparing to approach Shozbot, while she gathers herself to cast a spell.

Ondrake takes no interest in the parade of people entering the wizards tower, since he cant fit inside anyway. He moves towards the tower to the east and begins to climb. Bolts continue to pelt the giant, but he barely notices them since finally activating his magical talisman.

Thamansa shakes out the remaining cobwebs from her magical charm and digs into her special sack to extract a nasty monster to help fight against this powerful wizard. Tossing the furry ball on the floor and commanding it to attack, she is more than a little disappointed to see a plain ol' rat appear. From above her position, Shozbot finally notices the commotion below. In a rage like she has never seen before, the orc leaps off of the landing, attempting to land a killing blow on the wizard 20 feet below.

Xyxax Blu mumbles something under his breath as all of this is going on before opening the door to his private back office, walking inside, and shutting the door again. Thamansa's rat follows him inside, but Shozbot is a little late with his jump. The crazed orc lands on the hard stone floor with a loud thud that nearly kills him. In his rage, he doesn't even seem to notice his grievous injuries. 7 dam He tries to pick himself up so he can continue his pursuit of the evasive mage.

The unmoving Horsefly is trampled in his frozen state by a random animal galloping around the courtyard in a frenzy. One of the very animals that he himself had a hand in releasing. 3 dam

Thamansa considers her options. Shozbot seems eager to see the color of the wizard's insides, a subject of some curiosity for her, as well. Maybe she should help him get through that door? She could use her magics to enlarge him, but there is the danger that he'd turn on her in his rage, and, further, it is even more likely that Xyxax has ensorceled the door to resist being forced open.

Instead, she casts enlarge on the door itself, hoping that it will burst itself to splinters against the stone frame.

Ondrake scales the tower. He focuses on the lone guard with a bloody gleam in his eye. He moves to eliminate him from existence. He considers how the marrow from it's broken bones will taste when the time comes...

Attack (12) (+3str/+1weapon) [1d20+4] = 9+4 = 13

Damage (+7str/+1weapon) [1d10+8] = 4+8 = 12
