Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
If we scavenge what we can from our dead companions, we should have enough food and water to at least get us back above ground.

Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
Cruloc will share his rations.
If we are ambushed in the forest and further weakened, the fort will be our only option. I still like our chances in the forest better than in the City.

Agreed. We're dying by inches in the caves. I'd suggest we get to the surface, then make a camp a couple of hours from the ruins to recover.

Hi everyone,
Change of plans.
Sorry about this. Recent developments at work, that are otherwise positive, are curtailing my free time. Unfortunately, I'll need to shelve this campaign.
I've really enjoyed this game, and all of your characterizations. I've learned a lot from it and I'm sad to end it. We had a good run, 7 years! Maybe we can return to it one day.
I'd like to thank you all for playing. I really appreciate it. Wishing you all the best. Take care.

Sorry to hear, but understood, DM Inferno. I've really enjoyed your games, my favorite being the one with the Sleestaks and slime guys. A classic. Hope you have time before too long for PBP again.

Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
This has been the best PBP game I've ever played. Inferno's descriptions added so much to the atmosphere. Unbelievable talent.
Cheers to all of you guys as well. It's been an honour.

Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
Agreed with all - awesome players, awesome DM year after year. I’ll miss these . But glad to have been involved!
Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
You're very welcome. It was my pleasure. Thanks for the kind words!
Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
As the adventurers take stock of what possessions they have to aid in their survival, I'm reminded of what Yrkoon posted a year ago:
In Grigor's dead hand is the ghastly skull-crowned wand of obsidian!
On his belt, his lucky gypsy blade (Scimitar +2).
Within his pouches:
Dozens of gypsy trinkets
Hundreds of Ancient Atlantean coins of gold and silver carried for the group
3 days iron rations
Upon Kiri's mountainous body were found many legendary relics of ancient Verulia!...
The Helm of Uthoth (Read magic and comprehend languages)
The Claw of Chobek (Trident +1)
The Shield of Osorus (Shield +1)
Also:
4 shimmering rubies and dozens of platinum Atlantean coins, carried for the group
2 skeleton keys taken from the corpse of a Thracia death worshipper
5 torches
Hyborian coins of gold and silver
1 two-handed sword
22 arrows
1 short bow
4 days iron rations
And the ancestral amulet carved in his grandfather's likeness
Barbarians cannot bear to touch magic items. And encumbrance will be a factor for all.
What was taken in the flight from the Underworld, please?
Thanks!
Here's what was found yesterday:

Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
Barbarians can use magic weapons at level 4, which both Cruloc and Torix are now. Neither of us can use the magic shield until level 5.
Both of us already have +1 equivalent weapons (sword and spear), so the +2 scimitar I suppose is the prize. Roll for it, perhaps?
Other than that, Cruloc is interested in the coins and gems. I suggest dividing them up equitably. The arrows, rations, and keys should be brought with us.
In honour of Kiri (for he campaigned twice with the hulking Easterner and held him in high regard), Cruloc would like to wear Grandfather's amulet. Is it magical?

Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
Hey you're right. Good catch. Thanks.
The amulet isn't magical.
I didn't include Zahra's possessions in the above list because I was just interested in hearing who carried what out of the Underworld yesterday. You might wait to see Zahra's possession (in my next IC DM post) before dividing up the goods.
Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
Torix prefers a spear, so Cruloc can have the scimitar. But he'd like dibs on the spear Zahra found in the gelatinous cube if that's OK. If it turns out to be better than +2, we can roll for it.

Does Dahinna have a magic weapon?
Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
Cruloc will administer salves and balms to speed along the healing of everyone.

Re: But Shadows (ooc and questions Vl)
Yes, she has a +2 short sword.
She would have gladly carried a few of the rubies - oh how they sparkle!
Agreed on rations, torches, etc. any item we can use; maybe even a few coins.
Perhaps she can carry Kiri's short bow and arrows; it would be a non-proficiency weapon for her, but until she finds more darts...
