UE Issue #1: Introductions

Monday, June 15th, 1987 and Tuesday, June 16th, 1987

The founding members of what would become The Crusaders (Azir, Eclipse, Dos Seso and Wind Dragon) were introduced to each other and to Peter McGinley of GOSH. The group was set-up by GOSH isolated house as a base. The floorplans can be seen here.

In the groups first official action they were asked to help the Secret Service to protect Vice President Bush that was having a meeting at a place called the Southern Club with the Prime Minister of Canada (Mulroney). The Secret Service had a scare from a VIPER attempt to kidnap the VP that was foiled by the Secret Service. In the end, the VP, the PM, an American notetaker and 2 aides (one from each leader) had a meeting, the details of which the heroes never found out. They were attacked by a Chinese Government based team, Tiger Squad. The images of the four can be found here. They were later identified as Dragonfly, Earthquake Fist, Gossamer Storm and Peach Blossom Spirit. In the combat, the PM's aide and VP's aide were both kidnapped by Peach Blossom Spirit's Teleportation Power.

The actual VP and PM were not kidnapped. Eventually the Tiger Squad was driven off and in their retreat Gossamer Storm threatened the heroes that Earthquake Fist would knock down the building if the heroes did not retreat. In the end Tiger Squad escaped. The only part of the VP/PM meeting that was heard is in this post.

At the end of issue, Eclipse was voted as the leader of this fledging group and group issued their first press release and had their first press conference.
