Aelfred
Dropping my bow, I charge toward the nearest Orc drawing my long sword as I go.

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Jardin reels from the bite of the sword!
Save vs Poison (10) [1d20] = 5
He tries to counter with another attack of his own...
Mace Attack (18) [1d20] = 9 Mace Damage (S/M) [1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5 (L) [1d6] = 4

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Zamboni strikes out at an orc from his hiding spot in the shadows.
Longsword - TH: [1d20] = 15, Dmg: [1d8] = 4/[1d12] = 12 (SM/L)
Damage doesn't include backstab multiplier, if any applies.

Initiative - Round 2
10. Bingo
09. Zamboni
06. Orcs
05. Aelfred
02. Thir
01. Jardin
Bingo feels a little groggy at first but shakes it off and swings again at the orc, landing a blow this time. Zamboni seems to appear out of the shadows before striking one of the orcs attacking Jardin, catching the orc by surprise and ending it's pitiful existence. Its companion lets out a flurry of swings, catching Jardin by chance. The orc facing Bingo however is no where near as lucky as the spry halfling dodges its attack. Meanwhile, Aelfred drops his bow and drawing his long sword, rushes to aid Jardin but the panic gripping the orc allows it to easily evade Aelfred's attack. Thir continues to try and strike at the closest orc but is unable to land anything close to a solid blow. Jardin reels from the bite of the sword! He tries to counter with another attack of his own... but whatever was on the sword seems to have slowed him down to less than a snail's pace. He can't seem to move his shield up till after the orc has swung and when he swings his own sword, the orc has already moved.
Zamboni: Hide in Shadows [1d100] = 34
Attack vs. Jardin: [1d20] = 12 Damage: [1d8] = 1
Attack vs. Bingo: [1d20] = 2 Damage: [1d8] = 3

Bingo, spurred on by his previous success, swings his sword with effort and strikes the orc down. Zamboni attacks again, but he’s much less effective without the element of surprise. Surrounded by foes, the last orc throws his sword to the ground and drops to his knees, groveling for his life.

His mouth curling in disgust at the grovelling orc, he strikes at it with his hammer:

Bingo
Bingo checks around and makes sure there aren't any more in hiding, then searches the place.

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Initiative - Round 3 continued
Aelfred rolls his eyes in disgust with both his aim and at the groveling orc, then strikes again. But the orc is able to duck out of his swing. Thir grits his teeth brings his warhammer down on the hapless orc, ending it's miserable life.
I kept the rolls from the beginning of the round.
Bingo searches the room but does not find anything of worth, the orcs having only their weapons and their armor. An inspection of their weapons does show a slightly sticky substance covering the blades. Turning towards Jardin, you all see him fall limp to the ground.

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Thir examines the ailing Jardin
"I got no spells for healing or poison, but I've got something that might help"
He rummages around in his backpack and pulls out a potion
"I just hopes this keeps him alive long enough for the poison to run its course"
He gives a third of the potion to the stricken elf:
Healing: [1d8] = 7

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Jardin shouts at Alefred, "He yielded! Once again we strike down those that plead for mercy! This sickens me"
After his blood settles, he finds that he is indeed feeling the effects of the sword attack. He thanks Thir. "I too am out of healing prayers. Bless you for the help"

Thir
"It was my strike that ended the orcs life and I will not apologise for it. Killing it makes the world a better place and allows the countless dwarves who died by the hand of his kind to rest in peace"
