Kar started out at the bottom, everything he has, he has taken . Usually at the business end of a Gauss rifle.
The long years of servive with the raider fleet, steady advancement based on worth and merit.
A ruthless will to destroy his enemies and hear the lamentation of their women, has, over the years given way to a wish for something else, other than this endless cycle of raid and plunder for the benefit of our warlord. He wants all the plunder, all the glory for him and his Allies. The harsh truth of his last term has taught him that it is not something to be achieved alone.
Perhaps with the right crew, and a lot of luck there is another life out there for this old salt.
After failing his last term trying to prove himself as a raider, Kar looked for those he had trained, worked with and trusted, as much as an Oghman can. Reunited with Gondy and Ridley! Shipmates and stalwart warriors from many a raid, for one last Huzzah!

Just putting it all out there, eh?

Don't bother, we've all seen everything now
Re: Dramatis Personae
Here we go - straight outta Oghma!
Raven Sorrow has earned a notable reputation as a raider. She has now to negotiate the dangerous leap from Reiver to Raid Leader in order to continue her career. If her own raids were to follow the brutal efficiency of her lesser commands up to now then she would be a sound investment but in drink she has voiced radical ideas for longer range raids into new territory.
Like her namesake Raven is of dark aspect. Her hair and even the irises of her eyes are black. Whether this is some mutation or an affectation of her appearance none know. It’s as unsettling as the warpaint she applies for raids which gives her the visage of one of the dead.
She is tall for a female with a warrior’s physique and more than competent in all the weapons a reiver should wield: longarm, pistols and her fearsome kriegsmesser hand and a half sword: Battle Hag. She also famously wields a powerful energy weapon taken in a raid on the Imperials. However, she is most renowned for her ability to plan and execute an attack. She is also rumoured to be able to freely converse with the alien people from the Imperium.

Re: Dramatis Personae
Slightly shorter than average with a huge chip on his shoulder Ridley Korvus is a man of few words. A glazed uninterested look is a common expression . More alive in stressful situations when the going gets tough or something needs blowing up. Always had a interest in flying and blowing things up which was not overly appreciated by his father who valued armwrestling and drinking more honourable hobbies .... heavy beatings at his fathers hands has left Ridley with a particularly mean streak which has served him well in his career. The old ways of the raiders and his clan mean very little to Korvus, and although he plays his part he is patiently waiting for the right opportunity to arise before setting his sites on much bigger prizes

Re: Dramatis Personae
Remington Lesley Fairgates-Carter, PhD
Age 42
Remington’s academic history is long and convoluted (his personal history amounts to his academic history, plus 18 unimportant years before he attended college.) As an undergrad, he pursued a meandering. Initially a Philosophy major, his Xenology studies grew into a second major late in undergrad, and ultimately kick-started him on the path he would follow for the rest of his career (in academia). His study of xenology suggested to him the idea of even more alien aliens: those which could inhabit jump space. Step one of following up this idea was grad work, specifically in the physics of jump space transitions and jump space itself. That research led him to a PhD in jump space physics, but post-grad work is when Remington really spread his wings. He developed a functioning model of high energy theoretical particle chemistry, which was compatible with the going account of the nature of jump space. This model provided enough grounding to assemble a team and begin construction of devices fundamentally similar to jump drives, to attempt to look at jump space without having the reality bubble that surrounds a ship during a normal jump. Over eight years the project was twice recognized by the academic community, and Remington was slated to speak at the 137th annual conference of Tech-World jump space scholars. Then the Oghmans showed up.
Remington’s career post capture has been a radical departure from his academic existence. As an academic, he had days, weeks, or months to finesse and fine tune machines which operated on similar principles to, but which were distinct from, jump drives. As an Oghman tech-slave, he suddenly had to figure out how to make an actual, factual jump drive not kill everyone aboard. Admittedly, it had mostly the same parts as his research apparatuses, but not all the same parts, and there were some touch and go moments.
Physically, Remington is in the tail end of middle age and in adequate health. While sharing an academic’s general disdain for physical work, his habit of nervous pacing while in thought kept his endurance up. Psychologically, he is frustrated by his Oghman captors. They’re direct, blunt, unsubtle, and small minded. They have no appreciation for the fact that a jump drive merely drags ships across parsecs, while Remington’s actual work could expose us to vistas of life hitherto undreamt of. To combat the frustration of tedious mechanical and engineering work, Remington has taken up writing fictional accounts of the life of jump space (something which he believes he has a knack for.)

Arnwulf Goren Lugersen
B9A967
Standing well over 6'ft tall, broad shouldered and with a mane of shaggy black hair that drapes over his shoulders. High cheekbones and square jaw give a chiselled impression.
A native born Oghman, he excelled in sporting athletics and holding his own in youthful melees.
Despite a granite tough and intimidating appearance, out of combat he is rather genial. He is equally happy to carouse as much as enjoy his own company and takes duty to his Jarl, honour to his gods and loyalty to his comrades as virtues to be expounded.
Career journey.

Leon.
From Oghma age 34. Average build male. Generally Leon is capable gunner but willing to try out anything. Sitting at a console can sometimes be a bit boring! Leon is good for a laugh and will stick with his friend through thick and thin. Get him drunk though and watch him change. All sense goes out the window, Leon is not a happy drunk, almost indestructible!
Luckily, Leon does not drink that much, he enjoys a drop of rum but does know when to stop.
Leon dreams of being captain of his own ship one day, to lead his clan/house to glory and fame.

Technical Commander Tivali “Tiv” Thingvallir
A veteran of 6 terms as a Corsair Tech. Slim build but just below average strength (for an older man), good aim, highly intelligent and very well educated. He is qualified on almost every aspect of operating and maintaining a ship (except gunner). His greatest expertise is in computers (he has a reputation as on of the greatest Oghman computer experts- though that gets him absolutely nowhere with average Oghmen).
Those who know him understand several things about him. He’s been working special projects for Lord Hallstein and Lady Vigdis. Much of his gear was acquired off-world on either one of Lady Vigdis’ long range expeditions of technology purchasing trips or on Blackrock. (In fact he was part of the crew that captured Remington- and became Remington’s student.) He’s a nerd. He served a couple terms with a young Raven Sorrow- from whom he learned the art of swordplay (and lived tell of it).
Imagine a Viking version of Sam Elliott and you have Tiv Thingvallir. He is slender with a deep booming voice. His bushy head of hair and Fu-Man-Chu is of a grayish color, but with black eyebrows: marking him as a Nordmannaeyjar (of the island to the far north of Aesgeirr territory. They use a special lye/silicate soap in their hair that bleaches their hair grey. But it is not used on the eyebrows as it is an eye irritant). His long stache is braided and war beads are woven in at symmetrical intervals. He has a perpetual comical grin on his face.
He carries some of the highest tech gear/kit available in the Trojan Reach.

Re: Dramatis Personae
Sigbjørn tried to attempt terms as a corsair tech, but he was unlucky. He came back in Oghma with the intention to improve himself, and the Gods answered. In a vision, Modgud and Aurvandil helped him to understand his true vocation. From that moment when he pilots a ship or studies a path among the stars, he seems dazed, like some superior being is showing him what to do inside his head.
He is 2.1m slender man with blue dyed hair and light blue dyed beard, but he shaves his beard before a difficult jump, like an offer for the gods.

The stars themselves once lived and died at our command, yet you still dare to oppose our will.
