I only have to be with in one mile right. I will just tell him to follow along and stay out of combat. I will leave him outside with Sarin walking around on the ground.

right just like an animal companion i understand. Cat would probably be smart enough to stay out of harm's way though I'd imagine.

when firing into melee the chance the missile hits the larger creature is greater, however not 100%
with 2 people fighting it on 1d6 1-4 targets the creature 5 would target maxim, 6 would target hildr

Are Manes Large??
2 hander does 1d10 vs small and medium and 3d6 vs large. Aren't the Manes Large size?
