Blodget, halfling thief:

The little hobbit is rather enjoying this wondrous, amazing journey when suddenly he cries, "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Those other things are coming to get us!"

Always striving to be useful, Blodget quickly readies his sling and looses a stone!

Blodget, halfling thief, continued:

Realization suddenly dawned on Blodget's face! None of the mighty champions had done it yet! I, the simple little hobbit, could be the one to do it!
The impetuous youth couldn't control himself any longer. With mischievous glee, he shouted: "FIL! FIR! ha ha ha! FIL! FIR!"

Ba'atun Sky Battle
Round 1

Trotter quickly fires off a shot that would make Apollo jealous. The arrow flies straight for the biggest white flying monkeys head, a kill shot, no question about it. Until Xano releases her shot, that is.

Her arrow flies off clumsily, directly into his, and knocks both arrows off course. Her's falls harmlessly from the sky while his still hits, but does not kill the beast. Instead it lodges into the side of the creature, right into the base of its wing muscle. It lets out a horrible scream and begins to spin out of control, apparently unable to remain in flight. It begins to slowly spiral downwards and away from the skyfish.

Blodget slings a stone at one of the incoming monsters while Halo fires off two of his arrows, hitting with one of them.

Wyntar isn't sure if he can still command the craft while casting spells so he starts off with a familiar, easy one. (painfully familiar) :P His finger missiles shoot out and kill the two wounded creatures while injuring another as well.

Mira begins spinning her twine around and casting her mystic magicks. She creates a large and mesmerizing swirling pattern in the air in front of her. Three of the ugly beasts flying in for attack suddenly slow their advance and stare directly at the colorful hypnotic swirling smoke. The last three creatures turn and try to get to the opposite side of the cockpit. They swoop in for an attack behind Mira's defenses.

Actions!

The crafts science officer says nothing but the creatures get close enough that you can now hear their ear piercing screech. Please include a save vs. Spells at +4 with you next action. If you fail it, you drop to the floor of the cockpit, cowering in terror and unable to do anything else for this next round.

Save vs spell: [1d20] = 9 +4=13

Mira winces at the familiar shrieking of the demons but maintains concentration on the glowing dance holding 3 of the enemy at bay. Shield Man! she repeats shrilly, and is relieved to find bold Halo already at position.

The terrifying screeching coming from the advancing creatures sends Morgi to the floor of the cockpit. He covers his head with his cloak as the creatures fly in to attack.

Halo jumps to Mira's side to defend her as she continues to keep three of the creatures back with her spell. He attacks two of the creatures flying in and completely slaughters both of them. Blood splatters everywhere inside the cramped cockpit.

Trotter, Xano, and Blodget take down the last attacking creature. It falls dead and drops off the side of the still flying craft.

Wyntar commands the craft to spin around to face the three hypnotized monsters. He shouts the command word Fil but nothing happens. Possibly because he just used that command trying to break through the ice. When he says the word Fir, another burst of energy shoots out of the right eye of the skyfish. The bolt flies directly at the middle of the three white winged demons and explodes. All three of the creatures are completely obliterated. The shock from the blast sends the skyfish spinning out of control for a second until the wizard is able to regain his mental control.

And just like that, the battle is over as fast as it began.

You suddenly notice that there is more action going on in the skies several hundred feet directly below you. You see three aarakocra and a giant eagle fly out of the clouds. They fly towards the wounded and fleeing snow demons and completely annihilate them.

Trotter looks down, pumps his fist and grabs the rail of the wooden contraption. Maybe we should find this sky castle soon.

Mira looks around until she is certain no more of the ape-creatures remain a threat, then ceases her control over the glowing smoke rings and snuffs the ember on her incense twine, stowing it appropriately. She won't risk enthralling the eagle nor the Wind Spirits if they approach.

Wyntar looks at all the blood within the skyfish and is grateful that it is not from anyone within the party. He is reassured to see the Great Eagle and at least three aarakocra still alive and tells the skyfish to take them toward where the Great Eagle is.

The giant eagle climbs to meet the group and lands somewhat skeptically on the back of the skyfish as it hovers in mid air. The trio of aarakocra land as well, each of them look on in wide eyed amazement at the skyfish and the party. The eagle speaks to your minds in a deep telepathic voice.

We have been looking for you, heroes! When you didn't return in time, we were sent out to see if you too fell victim to the blackness. It would seem that the prophecy is indeed being fulfilled. For you have obviously found the skyfish that Kirraka saw in his visions. It is as incredible as was foretold.

I'm afraid we don't have time for pleasantries, for the darkness is claiming more lives every day and we've suffered terrific losses already. After your group left us at the eagles aerie, we were attacked by wave after wave of the snow demons. Only three of us escaped with our lives.

The majestic beast hangs its head in sorrow, thinking back on the destruction.

The enemy grows bolder by the day. They have now taken to attacking human villages. Lurneslye and Melmond both already lie in ruins, their people either killed or scattered about into the freezing wilderness.

We eagles have decided to join with the wind spirits in order to launch one final attack against the hoards of white demons. Now that we have found your group to join with us, we might actually have a chance to stop this menace once and for all.

Let us depart immediately for the aarakocra refugee called Tchitchi-Kwaaka where a war council will be held. It is a six hour flight at full speed from here. Are you all ready to depart?

Mira gasps sharply, her eyes widening to an impossible degree. Melmond?? Oh, no, No! My friend, the Mayor... She stops then, already realizing that no one here can tell her if the Man she has reference to is alive or dead. She buries her face in her hands and quietly sobs.
