Re: OCC Combat Thread
Hi Vargr, if I recall correctly I only had sufficient slots to specialize with the bow but I will check that once I have access to my books.

Re: OCC Combat Thread
I had it wrong.
Just went over OSRIC and realized the increased cost of Specialization for missile weapons (other than crossbows). So your attack values are correct.

Well, I hope that "Andrin's soft nether regions" isn't what I was immediately thinking. Otherwise he would be out of the fight at once...

ChubbyPixie, for the fight with the crows, if you want to post and roll for Ozborn but he hasn't been transferred to you yet on the dice roller (it may take time on some occasions) just use dice macros from your character from IM15.

Was just getting ready to ask... I'll do that. They haven't transferred him yet.Vargr1105 wrote:ChubbyPixie, for the fight with the crows, if you want to post and roll for Ozborn but he hasn't been transferred to you yet on the dice roller (it may take time on some occasions) just use dice macros from your character from IM15.

You can't do two actions like that in a round. You can either cast a spell OR make an attack. Which will it be?Stonjuz wrote:Stay on em lads! These turkeys are gonna give up. Just ...gotta....outlast 'em.
Stonjuz will attempt the exact same action as last round with better results i hope.
healing th erogue and then fighting defensively
heal [1d8] = 3 atk [1d20] = 14 dmg [1d6] = 5

Stonjuz, I felt compelled to rush off to help Swilbosh. Which maybe would cause your healing spell to be wasted anyway. Maybe you should save it for now?Vargr1105 wrote:You can't do two actions like that in a round. You can either cast a spell OR make an attack. Which will it be?Stonjuz wrote:Stay on em lads! Not to mention the fact a Cure Light Wounds spell takes 5 segments to cast. Stonjuz is bound to be the last to act...again.

Hi Vargr, just noticed that my rof is 5/2, so Ogirdor could only shoot 2 arrows on round 2.

No problem. We'll just take the first two attack rolls.

Zebediah quoted it right out of Monster Manual II.
Hey, I didn't write the rules I just enforce them.

Re: OCC Combat Thread
Yea, I know....no spell AND attack. sorry for any confusion.
I posted both in case I am attacked before I got there. or if the spell is abandoned, for some reason perhaps.

Re: OCC Combat Thread
Ok, I do not want to be a hard-arse GM about this but we *have* to address the issue of ammunition once and for all. This is a wilderness adventure without access, thus far, to any civilization to replace supplies so resource management is at a premium and ranged ammunition is been used like candy without any real thought, and that is against the spirit of the module.zebediah wrote:The ranger winces from the pain inflicted by the spikes but shoots another two arrows
Bow, short, flight arrow - specialist - To hit: [1d20+4] = 9+4 = 13, Damage (s/m): [1d6+2] = 4+2 = 6, Damage (L): [1d6+2] = 3+2 = 5
Bow, short, flight arrow - specialist - To hit: [1d20+4] = 3+4 = 7, Damage (s/m): [1d6+2] = 4+2 = 6, Damage (L): [1d6+2] = 6+2 = 8
I realize tracking ammo is more of an issue in a PbP. We had settled on having spend arrows that hit a target be recuperated with a 50% chance that arrows that missed were lost/destroyed. But no one has been using this houserule. It is impractical and does not address the fact that enemies hit by missiles may run away with the ammo still stuck on them. If we had used that system I am pretty sure Ogirdor's initial supply of 24 arrows would be reduced to a minimum by now.
So we need some abstract system to manage how fast someone depletes ammunition beyond recovery.
Any ideas?

Re: OCC Combat Thread
Hey Vargr, I'm keeping my inventory updated (only need to check if I adjusted my rations, but these are far from over). Ogirdor had 9 arrows at the beginning of this fight, is now down to 4 if he does not shoot again in round 3.
