Chapter 1 - Screams at Dawn
Re: Chapter 1 - Screams at Dawn
Adrik, all you find are men's and women's clothing. Nothing fancy. All are well worn and have an earthy smell.
Re: Chapter 1 - Screams at Dawn
There are no other rooms up here. Just the two bedrooms.

Perhaps the goblins had already located what it was the were seeking, Erevan suggests.MrHemlocks wrote:Going over to the open chest, Adrik looks through it. "Wonder why this room looks to be spared from the goblin's ransack?"
These are ghouls. They hang out in graveyards, they have long tongues, and they eat people.

"Perhaps you are right Erevan."Replies Adrik as he heads down the steps. "If no basement to explore I suggest we look at the other buildings...if any."

Vicentio Senereno [Wizard - AC 10 - HP 5]:
Follows the others back downstairs & looks for a basement.

Everan, once downstairs, peers out the windows to see if anyone has approached the cottage in the meantime.

Abhkari wanders along after the others, reclaiming his bow. "For what do you think they were looking?" he wonders aloud.

Craw [Fighter - AC 17 - HP 13]
Craw, following along, sheathes back his sword.
"My friends, we should check the barn and then hurry for the bog. I feel they were just looking for slaves, or worse, and they found them in the bog way before we got here"

"I agree Craw! There seems to be not a sign of a basement or other room in this structure. Let's head to the barn." Adrik, opens the door and makes he way toward the barn. Looking back at the others he shouts."Come on ladies! Are my dwarf legs too fast for you to keep up?"

Re: Chapter 1 - Screams at Dawn
Vicentio tries to find a hidden entrance to a basement but is unable to find any. IF there is one, it is cleverly hidden. Everan peers out the windows, attempting to gauge whether or not anything is approaching but the area around the house is clear. Even the horse and carriage remain in the front yard.
Heading to the barn, you make it more than half way between the house and the barn before catching sight of tracks in the soft earth. The tracks of individuals is difficult to make out however the tracks of a sled are easy to read.

"My legs are long enough," Erevan grumbles, as he examines the sled tracks.

Standing alongside Erevan, Adrik also examines the fresh tracks. He tries to determine the direction they went.
Re: Chapter 1 - Screams at Dawn
Make a Survival (Wisdom) check.
Re: Chapter 1 - Screams at Dawn
Abhkari tries this as well: Survival check [1d20+3] = 18+3 = 21
Re: Chapter 1 - Screams at Dawn
Both of you note that the sled is quite weighed down and that it is heading away from the barn towards the bog; which you both find odd as you figure going to the bog the sled would be empty and not much such furrows in the ground. Only coming back should that happen.

Craw [Fighter - AC 17 - HP 13]
Craw joins in just after the others. "What does the ground say?" He then looks at the barn, and moves a couple steps towards it, getting one of his trowing axes in his right hand.
"I'll go and take a quick look" He mutters backtracking the sled and heading for the entrance.

"Careful Craw," shouts Adrik as he sees the fighter head toward the barn.
