Re: Side Trek: Through the Cotillion of Hours
Jed will approach the cat carefully, aware of it's body language, put out a couple fingers for it to sniff. If it accepts him, he'll try to figure out how it likes to be scratched, on the head, behind the ear, under the chin, and so forth.

Re: Side Trek: Through the Cotillion of Hours
Ok, I think I'm with you now.
Jed will pass through the south-west half-door, glancing around as he does so, looking at the other revelers. Does he see the helpful stranger in the jasmine-flower mask, or other other familiar masks?

Re: Side Trek: Through the Cotillion of Hours
Jed takes a few deep breaths, calms himself, and ponders his choices. The west door was a whim, chosen for no reason save perhaps being s straight shot from the east door. He takes a couple more deep breaths, then as gracefully as this farmhand can manage he follows in the path of the helpful strang...

Painfully mindful of the chimes, but hating to be rude, Jed pauses. "Yes? How may I be of service?"Raven Crowking wrote:Before he can enter the far door, however, a man in a jasmine-flower mask calls out to him, "Wait a moment, friend!"

Re: Side Trek: Through the Cotillion of Hours
If I don't hear from Dumnbunny soon, I will assume that Jed also fails to escape the Cloakroom of Forgetfulness before the dream ends. Jed rolls a 4, then a 20. Mindful of the chimes, Jed hustles back to the entrance chamber then, time permitting, through the opposite door (from the staircase, the ...

Jed glances at Daryll. "I'm sorry, miss. Maybe we can talk more later, but I must go with my friends." Looking back at her longingly, he follows Daryll finding Murq already scurrying after him.

Re: Side Trek: Through the Cotillion of Hours
Jed approaches the woman who beckoned to him. "I'm sorry, I can't help staring at your mask. I'll often lie outside at night, staring up at the stars, wondering about what's out there." Murq approaches the female dwarf in the ferret or weasel mask deferentially; "Excuse me, my friends...

Re: Side Trek: Through the Cotillion of Hours
Jed pictures a bear's face, carved from dark almost-black brown wood, with teeth of ivory and eyes of ruby. Murq pictures an idealized dwarven face intricately crafted of mithril.

Re: Side Trek: Through the Cotillion of Hours
Sorry for the delay ... Murq walks across the lawn, marveling at the palace, the effort it would have taken to construct such a thing, not to mention the acquisition of that much jade, why ... He stops short, some short distance from the stairs, suddenly thinking to check if he is armed. Jed follow...

Re: Third Expedition
[Wow, 17 AC! I just assumed a 17 was a for-sure hit... that's a hellacious skeleton.] Crap! I looked at your init roll. The skeleton has a 14 AC, and you hit. Jedak can have +1 Luck for pointing out judge error! Grim also hits for 5 damage. The pitchfork only does half damage to the un-dead ...

Re: Fourth Expedition
Murq returns to his old trade as a blacksmith, regaling his fellows at the shop and fellow patrons at the local watering hole with tales of terror and courage below the barrows, telling his tales with a zest he does not feel. What he feels is loss, and a burning desire to avenge his fallen brother, ...

Re: Out of Character Thread
I think Murq hit level 1 as well... pretty sure, anyway. I included him in the division of the gold coins, so he's got some cash to spend on gear, too. Bitflipr had him at 8 XP. I went through the thread again and confirmed that number. Given his stats, maybe a two-handed battleaxe is the best opti...

Re: Fourth Expedition
Jed finds himself back on the parsnip farm. He hears the whispers, and ignores them. He has other problems; his dreams disturb his sleep at night and occupy his thoughts during the day. Besides, he has a new friend, now. After the day's labours, when he's lying awake on his pallet at night, he tries...

Dumnbunny, you want to pick up playing Murq? His sheet's in the forum. I think it's helpful to have them posted here, you should post Jedak's too. Also, as an interesting aside, I noticed Jedak was originally JeDDak...! Somewhere along the way, he lost a D. Can we just call him Jed? :-) Can do. Wil...
