The Quest Continues

#1 Post by wolfpack »

You set out on a long journey to vanderwald. A days travel through the open plains take you to a well traveled merchant road that will lead you to the city.

Your first day on the road you come upon a group of 2 wagons.

Sylhorn halts his horse Spitfire and looks to see if anyone is near the two wagons. The ranger-cleric dismounts and sends Sarge to investigate. "Sarge lets go check out the wagons. Search Sarge." the dog ways his tail and heads towards the wagons sniffing the ground and air to sense if anything is wrong or any people are near.

Sylhorn apparently in a daydream comes too and sees the two moving wagons and urges Spitfire to speed up so he can catch up and talk to the drivers.

Sylhorn "Hail and well met." he greets the men "Any trouble on the road I should be wary of?" he asks.

Sylhorn nods his head "Lets pray no brigands are about the road today. Are you heading to Vanderwald? That's where I'm headed to."

Sylhorn perks up "Ah tell me about the fall harvest market. I think I'll go there and check things out." he pauses for a moment "Names Sylhorn I'm a ranger-priest heading to Vanderwald as well looking for a friend of a friend. If you'd like i could escort your wagons the rest of the way never hurts to have an extra guard."

strength in numbers, glad to have you along. I have 3 guards with each wagon.

people form all over come to the market after fall harvest. All the farmers have coin form selling their harvest, so merchants like me bring our wares to sale. One of the biggest shopping times of the year.

Sylhorn nods his head "Yes strength in numbers is always a good deterrent to the common brigand. I think I will definitely stop by the fall harvest market. Sounds like at the very least I'll meet some interesting good folk and wind up buying some good food."

You travel the rest of the day chatting and run into no problems. that night you stop to camp, the caravan shares their food with you and you meet the guards, 6 in total.

they are common mercenaries who hire out as caravan guards.

Sylhorn chats about things and where he has come from eventually he wonders "So are any of you local to Vanderwald, been there often? I wonder have any of you heard of Orville Epsilon?"

Sylhorn smiles "That is wonderful. He's actually the guy I'm supposed to locate. He's a friend of a friend. We both know Boran the druid."

Don't know any Boran, but Orville will be easy to find.

The next week passes easy and uneventful and after much riding you reach the walls of vanderwald.

Sylhorn lets the wagons go before him through the entrance and bids farewell to the merchants/farmers then makes his way through the gates as well unless stopped. Once inside he will stable Spitfire and head out on foot with Sarge to find Orville.

You find the inn of the golden wench and get a room and stable (1 gp) and you head to the training grounds on the far end of town.

You arrive at what is a very large barn, outside you see a group of men wearing padded armor congregated.
