Chapter 7: The Castle U.S.S. Enterprise
Re: Chapter 7: The Castle U.S.S. Enterprise
LL's eyes grow wide as saucers
Yes yes I knew this was a house of healing, and a ship a ship that sails the stars.
he claps his hands quickly
He flips through his great book of hymnals
Tee Emee Zee tells us of this in song
But tell me
Did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way
To see the lights all faded?
And that Heaven is overrated?
Tell me
Did you fall from a shooting star
One without a permanent scar?
And did you miss me while you were
Looking for yourself out there?
Now that she's back from that soul vacation
Tracing her way through the constellation, hey, hey
She checks out Mozart while she does Tae-Bo
Reminds me that there's a-room to grow, hey, hey, yeah
Now that she's back in the atmosphere
I'm afraid that she might think of me as
Plain ol' Jane, told a story about a man
Who is too afraid to fly so he never did land
But tell me
Did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way?
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind?
Was it everything you wanted to find?
And did you miss me while you were
Looking for yourself out there?

Hans the Shrewd
"Indeed." he comments flatly after considering LL's lengthy invocation to his god who is not Iithius.
Hans is relieved that Maskelyn has regained consciousness, but he still eyes the newcomer with suspicion.
He decides to humour McCoy with a reply. "The Big Daddy did present himself, and he was magnificent, slaying all in his path. Unfortunately, he turned a hungry eye toward us, and we escaped through the magical disc platform. We seem to have become larger than we were - or the surroundings smaller. You, sir, are the first of your mates we have met."
The moleman squints, cocks his head, and waits expectantly for McCoy to answer. Forgetting that he has been brandishing his sword the entire time, he belatedly sheathes his weapon.

Jack
Your ship...it does not sail on water, but...among the stars? Your magic is powerful indeed! And your healing magic- I would very much like to learn how to heal like that.
You asked about the monsters. There were...5? 6? Most are dead, now, but the giant turtle and giant lizard still live. They ignored us after a time; they were more interested in feeding on the carcasses of the other giants than chasing us.
Unfortunately, we have not seen any others of your crew, except the Kirk, who we only saw on the God's Eye.

Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

Wait....McCoy?
The legends of the Kirk speak of a McCoy, the man of bones! The great healer, they also speak of a hobgoblin with pointy ears, a fierce warrior mage known as the Spock!

Castle U.S.S. Enterprise
The Barren Wasteland, Forbidden Island of Xygax the Wizard, Land of One Thousand Towers
Day Four. Night. March 28th, 912 CY
The adventurers speak with the celestial healer McCoy, who sails a sea that spans many worlds!
Fiefo asks him, "What was it that got into your star boat?"
McCoy answers gravely, "An unknown alien lifeform. New to us. We brought it onboard by mistake."
Hans offers, "You, sir, are the first of your mates we have met."
McCoy's face falls. "The crew was forced to retreat to Engineering. Um, where we keep the sails and oars for the star-boat. I was cut off. I don't know how long it's been. Something happened... I'm not entirely sure of," he says rubbing his head.
Ko-Nan asks, "How have you survived here? What do you eat? Do have water?"
Indicating his silver magic wand...
...McCoy replies, "This can provide nutrition and hydration... food and water. And so can the replicators."
Jack gushes, "...your healing magic- I would very much like to learn how to heal like that."
McCoy says, "You're pretty banged up. Hold still." The amazing shaman of the stars produces another wondrous artifact.
It hums as he waves it over Jack, and a recent gash on the wolf cub miraculously closes! (+1hp)
Jack says, "You asked about the monsters. There were...5? 6? Most are dead, now, but the giant turtle and giant lizard still live..."
"Turtle? No. I don't know about that. And the invaders aren't giants. They're man-sized... evolved from the Reptila class I believe... perhaps distantly related to the Gorn. They're all identical... to our eyes at least. And there are a lot more than six," McCoy says with a shudder of grim remembrance.
When Jack and Adrock speak and sing of The Kirk, God's Eyes, and legends of Spock and Bones, McCoy watches in confusion. Then: "Look. Thank you for answering our distress call. I have a lot of questions about who you are and where we are, but I should get to Engineering if I can. Will you come with me?"

Maskelyn
Maskelyn has been mostly silent during all this, trying to understand all the strangeness being put out. When The Macoy asks for help getting to Engineering, he stands.
I'll go, Doc.

Ko-Nan will follow - how else to leave this accursed place?
Re: Chapter 7: The Castle U.S.S. Enterprise
Monique Quan
Monique will move with her new friends to where the newcomer is. Seeing him, she knows he looks familiar....when he introduces himself and talks about the 'castle' being a ship....and being a "Doctor, not an anthropologist", a flash of memory hits her.
"YES! I too am with the fleet of stars!"....she pauses, her voice sounding confused again, "No wait....star navy? Something like that anyway....", she shakes her metallic head for a moment and says, "I am Lieutenant Monique Quan, Doctor McCoy and I will of course help you on your mission. These friendly aliens have been assisting me."

Hans the Shrewd
Hans understands the concept of safety in numbers, so he readily agrees to escort McCoy to this "Engineering".
He is perturbed that his ivory white armour does not blend well with the gaudy colour scheme of this downed star castle. Fashion-wise, he looks smashing. However, it causes him to stand out in a way inconsistent with long-term survival.

We saw the call for help, and help we will, although I am not familiar with this "Gorn" you mention. We could not turn down such a request, especially from one such as The Kirk! Please, lead the way.
