You see no trail or sign of where to go. Considering this is where the portal is i must not be to far you think. But all you see is the wooded hillside and typical forest animals

Sarin shakes his head "Nope. But we should start looking around for a trail Cillian came here more than once so some sort of path or trail should be worn down I would hope."

Sarin "Out here I'm not sure it will matter. Lets just start looking for anything that might be a lead. I'll climb a tree and see if i can see any house or buildings from a better vantage point." the half-elf looks for a tall tree nearby and starts climbing it to see what he can find.

Sarin climbs back down to the others and reveals his findings "Ah I have something to report. To the east within the random scattering of trees there is an area where trees are missing in concentric circle. I suspect this might be worth investigating as it might lead to where Cillian is."

You travel east for several hours and eventually come into a clearing.
you find what looks to be the ruins of an old keep. the stone walls collapsed and overgrown.

With the crumbled walls entrance into the keep area is easily found.

Sarin looks at the place somewhat disgusted "For such an ego Id be surprised if Cil is in this place. I think this more a place that bandits, thugs and goblins might select. But yes lets search the place anyway looks could be deceiving after all."

Walking past a crumbled wall you find the same inside. loose stone lay on the ground as interior falls have fallen to pieces, looks of centuries of wear are evident everywhere.
