Palakan Mountains; 329D/81 (Night/Early morning)
Kurot notices movement 100 ft down slope from your hill position. He and Silvestri sound the alarm to wake everyone. The camels are kneeling and calm, for the moment.
OOC: Kurot and Silvestri have a round to take action(s). All others must spend round 1 rousing from sleep/low power mode before they can take an action.
We will wait until Kurot and Silvestri act before posting for round 2

Palakan Mountains; 329D/81 (Night/Early morning)
Silvestri activates his ancient technological device and peers into the darkness. He reports fourteen, giant (5ft in diameter), mottled red and black spider-type creatures moving up the overwatch, through the rock outcroppings, closing on your position.
OOC: It will take 3 rounds for the spiders to reach the encampment. Since these appear to be mutated animals, the camels are also in danger of being attacked. In fact, their smell may have attracted the creatures.

The spiders will be here is 3.
If the spiders are engaged in melee, they will have immediate targets to feed on; the camels will be spared.

Re: CHAPTER 11: Into the Palakan Mountains
Denslow will toss an apple as soon as one is in range.
For when it makes sense:
Denslow Initiative [1d20+3] = 7+3 = 10
Denslow "Gala" explosive apple mutation check [1d20+1] = 1+1 = 2
FUMBLE! NOOOOO!!!!
defects table roll [1d100] = 86
Uncontrolled Empathy! I don't know what that is but it doesn't sound good...

Silvestri
"It'll take too long to rouse them, we need to set up a line between the critters and the camels.
He pulls out the blaster and takes a shot at one of the spiders:
Blaster: to-hit [1d20+1] = 13+1 = 14, dmg [3d6] = 9, ammo [1d8] = 8
ooc: I may have taken a liberty here, but Silvestri does have animal handling. If I missed, how close?

Re: CHAPTER 11: Into the Palakan Mountains
Kurot takes a position to protect the camels, then flashes his eyes at the spiders before taking careful aim and firing his rifle at any spider not affected by his blinky eyes.
Light beams: [1d20+2] = 19+2 = 21
Rifle (Aimed shot, short/medium range): [1d24+2] = 17+2 = 19 (+2 if short range) [2d12] = 17
I might want to add luck points. As rolled, that stuns up to 6 targets for 1d6 rounds. He could spend 2 luck points to hypnotize up to 10 HD of creatures for 1d8 rounds (save for half duration). But I'm not sure whether 6 spiders are more than 10 HD. Kurot could also use all of his remaining luck points to do 6d6 to everything within a straight path to his final target, but I don't know if the spiders are nicely lined up enough for that to be worth the expenditure. I'd appreciate any thoughts or clarifications before I roll Kurot's second and third actions for the round.
Edit (3/20/20): Added attack (then corrected a typo). Also, affecting 6 creatures sounds better than affecting 10 HD worth of 4HD creatures, so I'll save the luck points.

Re: CHAPTER 11: Into the Palakan Mountains
Hoping everyone is positioning themselves as to form a arc, MacMak try to shoot as well
[1d20] = 17[1d8] = 6
(i think i have a plus 1 to attack, so its a 18)
sorry, wrong damage die. the correct is
[1d6] = 4

Re: CHAPTER 11: Into the Palakan Mountains
Bruce
When his trickle-sensors detect the alarm from Silvestri and Kurot, his powercell initiates an Adreno-surge, snapping his martial arts frame into battle readiness. Quickly assessing the situation, the simulacrum takes up a position between the camels and spiders. He snaps off two shots at the nearest spider with his pistol.
Initiative [1d20+4] = 5+4 = 9+Zon[1d4] = 3 = 12
Pistol Medium Range [1d20+6] = 2+6 = 8
Pistol Damage [1d10] = 4
Pistol Medium Range [1d16+6] = 9+6 = 15
Pistol Damage [1d10] = 6
OOC: Assuming Medium Range here?

Palakan Mountains; 329D/81 (Night/Early morning)
ROUND 1, Spiders 100ft away.
Denslow surges mutant energy into an apple and gets ready to engage the enemy. Unfortunately, the radiation dynamo backfires and unseen energy courses through the plantient’s body! His bark feels dry and he becomes groggy and off balance.
Silvestri decides his energy blaster is, currently, the most useful weapon. The psionist aims at one of the vermin and fires a blue bolt of energy, striking one of the creatures with a ’CRACK’! (9pt. dmg)
Kurot calls up his program for Bright Eyes and flashes them into the densest area of the group. (Makes his Luck check) The blinding light dazzles six of the creatures who then slow their advance and stagger somewhat.
OOC: spiders are stunned, +2 to hit
He then takes aim and fires a round from his pigmonn rifle. The bullet ’SMACKS’ the front of a spider, spraying black fluid into the air! (17pt dmg) The beast halts movement and staggers side to side.
Farmanus takes aim and makes ready to fire. (Fires next round)
MacMak discharges a bolt from his crossbow that stick into a spider’s torso! (6pt dmg)
Bruce snaps to action and fires two quick shots from his pistol, striking once into a spider’s side! (6pt dmg)
Syrus begins to corral the camels in an attempt to lead them away from danger.
Undulating up the incline over and around rocks, seven of the spider-creatures move 40ft closer! The monsters are still in shadow as they eerily advance.

Silvestri fires at the same spider a second time:
Blaster: to-hit [1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21, dmg [3d6] = 17, ammo [1d8] = 6
critical, I think!
