Denslow moves closer to his teammates, so as not to be singled out. He prepares an apple just in case.

Kurot holds his rifle in front of him, but doesn't bother aiming it. At this range, there would be little point.

Silvestri

"They might be dangerous. They are apprehensive to us, as strangers, but also arrogant and opportunistic. I'm guessing they'll leave us alone if we show enough strength.

Farmanus

From partial cover, Farmanus keeps a bead on the most capable-looking enemy rifleman.

...

North of Hagalton; 328D/81 (Morning)

Those viewing with a spyglass observe one of the lead people shed their robes before shimmering and transforming into a mottled yellow feline form.

All others, in overwatch positions, see the person-sized cat bound with haste across the desolate ground and take a wide arc around your caravan, staying around 500 yards away.

The lead continues to shout the repeating phrase while the pigmonn guards remain in the prone position. The third person begins walking their line of camels, stopping briefly at each one.

Silvestri moves forwards slowly with hands in sight, unarmed. He is careful to retain line of sight and keep his empathy power active, which he uses to monitor the humanoid.

He will get just close enough so he can understand what the creature is saying.

Denslow gets in a defensive position closer to his comrades. He’s preparing apple fritters for our guests.

Farmanus

Lacking no physical gifts but brains, Farmanus tracks the feline with his keen eyesight.

"How can we show force without actually starting a battle?" wonders Kurot aloud. He keeps his rifle trained on the cat. "Brandishing our weapons does not appear to have been sufficient yet, and I would prefer not to waste bullets on warning shots."

“They appear to be a trading caravan. Can we not offer to trade?” Suggests Denslow.

While you continue with your defensive posture, Silvestri cautiously approaches the strangers. He stops 1,000 yards away when he can understand the lead’s message.

OOC: PM Sent

The mutant feline competes its circle around your caravan and returns to its companions. Once there, it transforms again into a human and dons its protective garb.

Silvestri bows towards the man, deeply from his waist. He then slowly turns and makes his way back to the others.

"The man is called Merchant Prince Ibar Forzen. He's made it quite clear he doesn't want to speak to us and we should continue on our way. In this case I think we should do just that"

Farmanus

Farmanus is no longer pointing his weapon toward the caravan.

"Let them go in peace."

Palakan Mountains; 328-329D/81 (Night)

By the afternoon of the sixth day, the Palakan Mountains loom prominently to the west. The mountains are low, rolling arid peaks scattered with scrub brush and rock outcroppings. You spot the occasional landslide that exposes fresh debris from several feet below the surface. Within the fan deposits at the bottom of the natural excavations is the rich, ancient soil that Syrus promised Denslow.

That evening, you camp on an overlook to a deep valley Syrus has identified to contain the vault. You corral the camels into a 40 ft. circle and set a fire at the center. Two remain on watch through the night after you determine a shift schedule.

During the hour of 2:00-3:00 am, the watch sounds an alarm to wake everyone.

OOC: Roll 1d100 for each character. Lowest two numbers are the ones on watch. I will PM them once this is determined.

Hit Points [Luck Points-327D]:

Denslow – 42/42 [16/16]
Silvestri – 60/60 [14/14]
MacMak – 68/68 [8/17]
