Brother Blaive has 5 pints of oil on him for his lantern, he can donate 4 to the cause though. I think we should probably speak with the old crazy guy, buy our supplies, and maybe talk with the Miller see if he knows anyone. Oh an I suppose we could share any rumors that we know.

Vann Hector

-3gp into the party pool. Buying extra oil is good. I have some also but extra useful as a flaming barrier (or burning bodily remains). I have rope. I think investing in a good armoured guide is a wise but expensive cost.

My rumours have been voiced in character already.

I rolled animal trainer as a skill so that might come in handy if we need to coax the mule forward or into a dark crypt.

My rumours are:

1. The dead have been seen walking the Barrowmoor with increasing frequency.
2. All rumors about the Barrowmaze are true.

the latter of which I already mentioned (casting doubt on everything). :)

We should definitively hire a guide. If we have enough left over we should get some holy water if we can find it. I mentioned my first rumor already, that there are mutants that seek to enslave us. The other one I heard is: "For safety seek the pools".

With another 3gp tossed into the pile from Vann that puts our total at 31gp, that will surely be enough for a guide and any other mundane supplies we'll need!

Brother Blaive has 2 flasks of holy water on his person, we should also pick up a fishing pole maybe? Blaive does have it as a skill along with map making and thatching.

My two rumors are
1. Barrowmaze is 4 levels deep.
2. Frogmen, or froglings, make their home in the muck and mire of the Barrowmoor.

Oh, from Looking for Players we might have a halfling ranger join us.

Good timing, if you sheet is done or while we are still tweaking stuff you could post in the tavern or with the pairs in the church or dwarf forge.

I assume everybody is back at the inn. We can either rest and head out in the morning or try to gather more information. I am ok with just heading to the maze.

Had a couple of busy days at work, but I think we should go hire the Miller as a guide and head out at morning.

I believe if no more in character posts back at the tavern are left we should head off in the morning to the Barrowmaze. At this point there doesn't seem more point in staying, the dwarves had little to say and the clerics just see us as another adventuring group.

I think Harker hired two people from the mercenary leader to guide and assist us.

sirravd, et al,

My apologies for the delayed response to being accepted to the group. I had surgery on Thursday, and the recovery has been much slower than I had anticipated. Sitting at the computer for more than a few minutes is still quite painful, so now I have a laptop than I can type on while in a reclined position!

So, if you'll still have me, I'll get my character posted asap and maybe I can join the group while their on the way through the marsh? If not, I totally understand - no one wants a flaky poster in the game!

Cheers,
Steve

It looks like Steve is almost ready to go. It wouldn't be too hard to say that his halfling left town with us.

Okay guys, help me out a bit. My saved spell to use in the Barrows?

Burning Hands or Magic Missile?

Both of those spells have a limited use. Magic Missile in it's description can be cast and then triggered a few rounds later, burning hands could be useful close up.

Unseen Servant, with a longer duration and multiple uses is actually one of the best lower level spell. What spells do you know, I cannot see your sheet displayed in the forum.

Burning Hands is a what, 15 foot cone? That could affect multiple opponents, but does require getting closer to the target(s).
