Thanks! Too bad Tinuwen couldn't stop rolling 1s for damage! Slaying the beast a round earlier would have saved several lives, alas.

Thanks for a fun game Inferno!

Cold, we missed the snow this far north (I am a couple of miles from the Canadian border). We got about an inch, which we get this time of year even when they don't call for any. Lows have been single digits with windchills sub-zero (F), Highs in the teens. Supposed to warm up over the weekend into the 30's. Was hoping for a white Christmas but it doesn't look like it. Looking like the weather pattern this year is going to have us getting most our weather events out of the south (ie Nore Easters), that brings us a lot less snow where I live, shielded by both the White and Green Mountains. Most years the pattern here comes off the Canadian Shield and we are the first real elevation the storms hit so we get blasted. In those years snow totals are measured in feet. One year we had 47" in December. Two years ago we had 43" in November. Officially we are at 14" since October but no more than 4" at a time. Very light snow year for here.

Single digits! Yikes!
The last time I was in Vermont, we (my family and I) made a trip to Smuggler's Notch and had a really nice time. It was the coldest I've ever been in my life skiing. And the last night there, we went to a children's play at the local elementary school. Afterward there was to be a bonfire and fireworks, but since we had an early flight, we headed back to our cabin. The temp was -8 and folks were walking around like it was 48. Crazy, man.
Winter is coming...

Those of us that live here tend to be a bit different. I usually go camping in late January or early February. It is almost always below zero at night, several trips the highs were below zero. My record is -38F. The Winter Carnival in Quebec City in February is really fun.

I couldn't tell if there will be another exciting chapter to this story yet to play out or not, but if that was the conclusion, I agree with everything mentioned so far.

Great game everyone!

In keeping with the Peter Jackson theme, I'm planning 6 endings in a row. Just kidding. I'm looking to wrap it up Sunday with a final IC post.

I really enjoyed this game, and all of your characterizations. I'm sad to end it. It was a different approach for me and I feel like I learned a lot. Thanks for playing, all! I appreciate it.

Gilly jumps back as Smaug the Great and Terrible falls and thrashes in death. She gawps at the great beast lying there, taut and ready for it to spring back to life...and when that doesn't happen, she drops her pick and staggers to her brother's side. Tears fall on Glasik's face when she realizes he still has life in him.
"Be there any healing among us?!?" she shouts, as she collapses beside the burned body of her brother. He holds her fingers, like he used to when she was little and he led her through the mines, afraid she would get lost. She holds his, willing him to keep breathing.
(Does Vindo's drinking horn restore some life in him?)

Afterward, Gilly finds Therone and hugs her fiercely. She can't really say anything because it would be unlike a Dwarf to sob uncontrollably, and she can barely hold it in as it goes.

And then to Vindo, Gilly says, "Ta answer ye question...No! It will not stay buried. And this vile beast here? We be draggin' his sorry dead ass outside fer tha crows and critter of tha night ta feast upon! And if we can't drag him, me and me brother will chop him inta pieces and carry them out of this hall. Tha stench will clear in time and there will be forges lit and tales told in these halls once again!"
It would have increased your natural healing overnight, but I think that's just fluff at this point. :)

If he's conscious, Glasik has things to do. If he can't get healed and gets carried out, well, so be it.
Sometimes this summer I will most likely be participating in another 24 hour game of Dungeons & Dragons as part of Extra Life. This organization uses gaming to help raise money to donate to children's hospitals. I'm raising money for Marshfield Children's Hospital in Marshfield, WI, and all money I raise will go to that hospital. All donations are tax-deductible. Please take a moment to check out my donation page below. Thank you.

All the casters are dead, hit points being a primary factor in surviving a dragon's breath weapon.

And all the fast-healing magic is gone. So it might take a day or so for Glasik to awaken.

Feel free to post your proposed actions here if you like.
