Ah! I think the 7-1-13-13-1 code is GAMMA spelled by alphabetical position.

Good job the scenario wasn't written when people were still relying on telegrams to communicate. We'd be typing on strings of dots and dashes :)

My ten year old just discovered that you can type numbers into a calculator and turn it upside down to see words. He thinks it's cool. :)

4-2-6-6-2 is Gamma on a standard land line phone. I posted that from work where we still have regular old phones on our desks. :D

I was wondering where you got that!

Ja, that is what Ringar is trying but we'll see...
SpinwardMarch wrote: Thu Oct 08, 2020 12:14 am Sorry for not replying sooner... ATT internet cables to much of Lake County burned Friday evening, and we didn't get service back until late Sunday night. I am happy to have the WiFi connecting to the outer world again. I will get a reply up as soon as I figure out the keypad layout you are trying. I need to look at an old telephone first*...

Take your time, sorry to hear your in the midst of the fires.

Hello, I'm back! The WiFi is on, the air is clear, there is sunshine, and my brain is working again.

I really think that the smoke interferes with brain function; it is harder to breathe, the sky is orange or yellow, and the outdoors is oppressive. This is the 5th year of major fires in Northern California. Ugh.

I am chunking along in the "real world" (tm) and will try to get back to this game. Life is wierd right now. Not just the larger world, but keeping up with planned blackouts to avoid more fires. My area lucked out this past weekend, and did not go dark, but many in the county just power back yesterday evening.

So heads up, players! I have been kind so far, since I am learning to be a GM. This may not last much longer. :D

Hi all, stopping by while I have a little strength. Tuesday afternoon after my wife tested positive for Covid, I tested positive. This flu really saps your strength and leaves you couch or bed bound for a huge portion of the day. I will post when possible, but please NPC my character instead of waiting for me.

ybn- Thoughts to both of you, to get well soon.

Don't worry, I won't kill your character as a NPC.

My goal in refereeing Traveller games is providing good adventure, not to kill off the (N)PCs.

Friends, Romans, countymen...

Ooops, wrong era, wrong planet. However, I have pulled my collective wits together and we will pick up almost where we left off. I am going to "fast forward" the plot, since so many players have disappeared or have taken ill.

Welcome back, ybn1197! I hope you are feeling better.

Get caught up, and post what you are doing. Then I can give more details in one post about the group's discoveries on the Lab Deck.

Library Data: Anagathics

Anagathics are drugs which counteract the aging process. A regiment regular monthly doses enables a individual to ignore the aging die throws and their potential for debilitation. Because of the rarity and demand for anagathics, they are quite expensive, and are often unavailable at any price.

Yeah! You know how hard it is to get a GM to shake their head in disbelief in a PbP?
SpinwardMarch wrote: Tue Apr 20, 2021 4:31 amRinger, you do have Pilot 1.

So, proceed with your plan...
For the record, so does Madox. He was the Ex-merchant 2nd Officer.

Bad things usually happen when someone says "how difficult can that be," or the most dreaded statement: "Watch this!"

On air/rafts, from Library Data (A-M), (Supplement 8, 1981)

Also known as a flier, the air/raft relies on solid-state anti-grav modules for lift and propulsion. ... (it) can carry a payload of about four tons, including driver and three passengers ( a maximum of eight can fit with minimal comfort) ...

Crusing speed is usually 100 kph and extremely subject to wind effects. The vehicle is open-topped, and subjective to the effects of weather and clumate. Range in time or distance is effectively unlimited; refuelling (recharging) can be accomplished from a starship power plant in a few hours every ten weeks or so.

An air/raft can reach orbit (occupants should wear vacc suits) in several hours (number of hours equals planetary vsize digit in the UUP).
----
In area #6, "...is an air/raft with a covered compartment separate fron the driving area. The compartment is obviously an animal containment cage. This air/raft can carry ten persons."

The general passenger area is open air, so you might want to consider warm clothing...

Sorry for any ambiguity with the maps.

1.On the island map, the small hexagons are 1: 30km

2. On the colorful continental map, the station is at the very bottom right, in the group of small islands (map strip #8)

The hexagon scale on it is 1: 800km.

3. Chiree's home is on that brown continent near the top of the center triangle.

Hope that helps.

Note to everyone... I live in Northern California, which has been extremely hot (got to 115°F/46.1°C on my porch). Much of my energy has been spent keeping both plants and the chickens watered, and avoiding heat stroke. So far, it is working. I did lose one of the hens to heat stroke, which was very sad.

So, anyway, yes, we will continue with the adventure. I will try to get something new posted by Tuesday evening (PDT).

My brain... it is melting... :o
