Phil decides to try something different after realizing that magic seems to have some effect on them. Not knowing what to expect, he attempts to shield slam the nearest shadow. It's not a weapon, but it seems to have magic properties, so it's worth a shot.

It is not a weapon, however it is magical. I will allow it to hit but is limited to 1 point of damage + str. You have to strike with the edge and you lose the protection value while doing so.

Phil has the dagger (he's currently holding it in his shield hand, for the light - not wielding), I believe the paladin has the short sword.
