Chapter One: Arrival
Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Thir closes to melee range this round, but waits to see the results of the turning attempt.
Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Hex remains well back, not wishing to get in the way of the martial types. He will watch the corridor behind them in case anything is drawn near by the noise of combat. He will also keep his eye on the combat itself in case he needs to throw a dagger or two, or a spell.
Greys Campaign.
Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Ghoul Initiative: [1d10] = 9
Jardin Initiative: [1d10] = 5
The first ghoul continues to swing at Shade with it's tainted claws, ripping through the leather armor as if it weren't there. It then bends over Shade, it's fetid breath making Shade retch if he weren't already paralyzed from the infection on the beast's claws.
Ghoul1: Claw [1d20] = 15 Damage [1d3] = 1 [1d20] = 12 Damage [1d3] = 2
Ghoul1: Bite [1d20] = 14 Damage [1d6] = 5
Damage = 8
The second ghoul bounds over Shade to swing at Bingo with it's claws. One misses, but the other slices across the halfling's unprotected neck. Before he can react, the ghoul bites at the warrior, grazing across his arm as he tries to protect his face.
Ghoul2: Claw [1d20] = 3 Damage [1d3] = 1 [1d20] = 20 Damage [1d3] = 2
Ghoul2: Bite [1d20] = 18 Damage [1d6] = 1
Damage = 4 (second claw strike is full damage for nat 20) and save vs. paralyzation
Need to pause here. Bingo is next in the Initiative order. I need that Save vs. Paralyzation before proceeding as pass or fail it will affect the combat.

Bingo
Save vs Para (13) [1d20] = 16
Not that it matters with the roll, but if it is considered magical I get +5 and if it is considered poison I get +6

You're right, it doesn't matter, you're safe this round.Rex wrote:Bingo

Bingo's innate fortitude allows him to shake off the putrid effects of the ghoul's attack and he swings back with his sword, catching the ghastly creature on the shoulder, biting into his undead flesh. Tilthig plants his feet and fires his crossbow at the ghoul on Shade, the quarrel embedding itself into the ghoul's shoulder/back and drawing it's attention away from the half-elf. Hex holds his daggers at the ready in case something is drawn to this small skirmish.
Jardin brings forth his holy symbol, the power of his faith driving the ghouls back and forcing them to flee back down the hallway away from the assembled group. Their routing leaves three bodies along with the paralyzed Shade. One of the bodies is beyond recovery, the ghouls having feasted upon the corpse before your arrival. You are unsure of the other two.

Jardin praises the power of the Light to see the threat thwarted! He will quickly tend to the stricken Shade and lend what aide he can.

Thir
While Jardin tends to shade, Thir will take a look at the two 'bodies'.
ooc: do we know how long the paralysation lasts for?

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Hex will move to the tunnel the ghouls fled down. He will take up point there and watch in case they return. These things will likely be back at some point. If the bodies are still alive perhaps it might be wise to move them out of here. Can we set up some kind of trap for those returning monsters?
Greys Campaign.

Tilthig
"Darned thing ran off with my quarrel! Well at least they won't be bothering us again. Maybe I can recuperate my quarrel later.."
He too will verify one of the two 'bodies'.
Looking at Hex, he nods.
"Might be a good idea. I might not be the best person to do that however."

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
The first body you inspect is that of a male human wearing leather armor. A quarter staff lies nearby and he carries a long bow, a long sword, and a couple of daggers.shaidar wrote:Thir

The paralysis can last up to 10 minutes from the initial infection.
Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Aelfred
I'm wondering if everyone is waiting on me and the 10 mins is up. So here goes, but please disregard if I'm going too soon.
Aelfred feeling the strange hold on his limbs beginning to relax, opens his eyes to see others standing about, he tries to speak but only noise comes out as his jaw is still locked in place. He starts trying to get up, but simply finds all he can do is raise his left side a bit. After struggling for the better part of a minute he gives up, and slumps back to the floor.

Re: Chapter One: Arrival
Shade
Feeling the poison move through his body and freeze his limbs in place he waits as the new party moves in and starts smacking the ghouls around. He waits for the paralysis to subside and get the feeling back in his limbs and body. Once he can move again he will do healing on himself and cast a couple healing spells.
[1d3] = 2 healing
[1d8] = 6 CLW
Total of 13 points back counting the CLW from Thir
Shade is interested in the Long sword, daggers, and Bow if no one else wants them. Will carry and use later.

Aelfred may object to you taking his things Besides, his paralysis wears off before yours.Darklin2 wrote:Shade is interested in the Long sword, daggers, and Bow if no one else wants them. Will carry and use later.
The other "body" is that of a large man. He has the looks of both human and something else. Too big to be a half-orc. Too small to be an ogre.

Bingo
Bingo looks it over and sees if he can figure out what it is. Then he will see if it has anything useful on it.
