I've moved the threads for finished characters into the sub-forum.

We have a few characters that need to be finished up.

If anyone wants, I'll just make the decisions on cult training for you (that's mostly all that's left), maybe also some language choices.

Sorry, things have gone topsy turvy for me. I haven't been able to get the time I usually get to work on gaming and the new game I'm starting has turned out to have a much bigger startup effort than I expected.

Ok, let's see if I haven't managed to kill this off...

I'm afraid it's time to call this one dead. I think I overestimated the time I had available for running play by post and RQ isn't as smooth to run. I've been letting it hang on and just not having the time or energy to keep it going.

Thanks for giving it a try. I agree, RQ is tricky to run PBP, especially for combat. A lot of decisions have to be made during a combat turn, like delaying strike ranks, adjusting hit locations, or choosing whether to parry this attack or wait for another attack.

I'm not sure how that would work without making everyone post back and forth step by step, or make everyone write a short paragraph of exactly what they're doing for the whole round, including parries and delays; or just have the GM handle all of the decisions and rolling.

I have thought of running a HarnMaster game but combat would be a disaster.

I think another issue would be the tactical aspect. As the combat system gets more detailed, unless it specifically is designed to not need a tactical grid, the grid becomes vital (Burning Wheel has a detailed combat system, but does not at all use a grid). Running a play by post on a grid with a complex system would be murder.

To any of those who liked the taste of RuneQuest for whom am 8:30 PM to 10:30 PM Pacific Time Roll20 game would be of interest, drop me a PM (starbeard is already in the game). Although back in the day, I ran 6-10 hour RQ sessions, a 2 hour session does allow enough action in a session to feel like progress is made.

Wednesday, search for the game in Roll20, we play every other week, this week is an "on" week.
