Shemhk
To Fiapy, in Northspeak "Cover me while I do this"
If Dunulk will give up the manacles then Shmehk will use those to chain him up to something heavy and then gag him with something suitable from the area. If no manacles then Shmehk will use his rope to tie up the cook.

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Dunulk passes the manacles over, and Shmehk binds the cook's hands, securing him to the heavy food preparation table. The cook watched the discussion about killing him closely, but once it seems you've decided to be merciful, he does not struggle, and allows himself to be tied up. Finally, the gag is put in his mouth, and he hangs his head, defeated.
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Shmehk
"Let's get moving. Why don't we checkout the other door in the dining room first?" he heads back into the other room and over to the door in the west wall.

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
You go to the door heading west out of the dining hall. You hear nothing beyond it, and after a moment, you open it.
Beyond, you see a narrow corridor heading west a bit more than 30 feet before turning left. A guard stands in that corner. He spots you, and prepares to raise an alarm.
To get to him before he raises the alarm, you must beat his initiative, 7.
You can all move far enough, but it is a 5 foot corridor, so room for engagement is limited... lets say highest initiative can attack as normal, second one to get there has a -2 to hit, and there is no room for the third in melee range. He has leather armor, AC 12.
Also, you guys get an xp for that encounter with the cook, and a fleeting luck.
Init: [1d20] = 7

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Shmehk
Initiative: [1d20+1] = 10+1 = 11
Shmehk attacks the guard with his long sword, aiming for his throat (deed) to try and keep him silent
Long Sword: to-hit [1d20] = 3, deed [1d3] = 2, dmg [1d8] = 4
not wasting luck on that

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
You can... sort of. Initiative determines who actually gets there, and who ends up "in the back"
For Dunulk:
Dunulk init: [1d20] = 14
Dunulk is just behind Fiapy. And will reach the guard, but suffer a -2 to hit (per my last post).
Dunulk attack: [1d20+1] = 20+1 = 21 -2 for crowding Damage:[1d6+1] = 1+1 = 2
Dunulk scores a critical hit on the guard!
Dunulk crit roll [1d10] = 5
Dunulk gets the guard in the kidneys!
Extra crit damage [3d3] = 7
Doing a total of 9 damage, Dunulk drops the guard before he can shout the alarm! (+1 fleeting luck!)
1 xp each
What now?
Fiapy | Warrior | HP: 7/8 | AC: 15 | Luck: 17+2=19 (+3) Banter Marker
Shmehk Scree | Wizard | HP: 10/10 | AC: 12 | Luck: (10-2)+2=10 (0)
Dunulk | Thief | HP: 10/10 | AC: 10 | Luck: (11-2)+3=12 (0)

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Looking around, you see...
The was a door in the south side of the corridor you ran down to reach the guard, and the corridor extends south about 30 feet before ending. At the end of the corridor, there is a door to the west.

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
Shmehk catches up with the others, he keeps his voice low "Nice job! I guess we should try and be a bit more stealthy from now, not really my area of expertise. Before we move on we should check that door behind us" he gestures to door they passed.
Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
In terms of stealth/ changing things up, let me know how you want to proceed. With NJ not here, I'll let you guys call the shots on what you'd like him to do. If you want to check for traps or listen or something, let me know. Everybody *can* be "stealthy", is just something thieves will be better at.
Note that in DCC, listen is not a thief skill, it's luck based.

Ok, Fiapy, roll a d20 to listen.

Fiapy hears nothing at the door. Going in, or...?

Re: Chapter 1: In the Dungeon!
The door looks like a regular "heavy" door. You could probably bash it down as you have the others. It does not, however, seem to be locked.
