Re: Are there any games that should be archived?

This forum is for users to make requests of the admins. This includes starting new campaigns, archiving old campaigns, adding player sub-forums to existing campaigns, and anything else that the user cannot do and must be completed by admins.

max_vale wrote: Mon Feb 08, 2021 1:04 am Hey there! If you guys could archive the following Threads from my Star Wars 1st Edition d6 game (so that they are visible only in the Star Wars RPG: Starfall Completed Games section, I'd appreciate it!):

All threads that are titled: 'SCAVENGER HUNT' (so Scavenger Hunt Episodes 1 thru 6); all threads titled 'Echoes from Hoth' (so Episodes One thru Four) and OOC Thread Three.

Thank you guys!
Okay, I was able to move the 'Scavenger Hunt' topics to your completed game. The 'Echoes from Hoth' and 'OOC Thread 3' topics were actually already moved:
If you hover over that arrow in the left column, it shows that it is a 'Moved Topic,' and clicking on the link actually takes you to the new location of the original topic (in the completed games section):

It looks like you were the one that actually moved them... back in November of 2019:

My guess is, when they were moved, the 'Leave shadow topic in place' option was selected, and those shadow topics are what you now see.

I'm not sure what deleting these shadow topics will do -- delete just the shadow topic, or both the shadow and the original topic? I'll need to do a bit of testing to try to figure that out before doing anything that might cause problems.

Actually, the shadow topics can't actually be deleted, only the originals. If you click on the shadow topic from the original game, which is what you need to do in order to produce the moderator options, you're actually opening the original topic (not the shadow). If you delete the original, the shadow is also removed... but, so is the original.

However, if you create a copy of the original topic, then delete the original topic that has the shadow topic remnants left behind, the original topic and shadow topic are removed and the copy remains.

I'm going to test with what I'm assuming will be the least harmful topic that has a shadow remaining... just in case.

Here is my plan:
  1. Create a copy of the 'Former PCs' topic that only exists in your 'Star Wars RPG: Star Fall' forum in the 'Completed Games' section;
  2. Delete the original 'Former PCs' topic that I just made a copy of.
This should remove the shadow topic from your current game and leave only the copy behind.

Could we please Archive my game, Into The Emptiness?

I hope to revive it in a couple of months. Just don't have the time right now.

Thank you.

Hello.

I have sent private messages to those who were players in my Tour of Duty (Recon RPG) game and pending sufficient interest will ask it to be unarchived please.

Amazingly after sending players messages yesterday regarding a campaign restart, within a couple of hours five of six players responded with definite confirmations to join in and were very encouraging with positive comments about the game, even after the enforced 18 month hiatus.

I am both truly humbled and encouraged.

So with that in mind, I would like to request the Tour of Duty game to be unarchived please.

Thank you.

I would like to request that the Casketlands (Apocalypse World) game be recovered from the archives. I will be available to participate in the forums again soon and have confirmed interest from the folks that were in the game.

Thank you!

I would like to follow up on my recent request and see if the Casketlands (Apocalypse World) game can be recovered from the archives. I reached out to the group and there is interest from the participants to keep the game going.

Thank you!

Sorry ST! I'll take a crack at it now.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Okay, you are back in business.
You're at the bottom of the PbP games forum, which I'm pretty sure fits Dave's SOP on how these things should go.

Happy gaming!
