Everyone,
Please calculate encumbrance to determine your movement rate.

For purposes of weight, 10gp = 1lb.
DMG p. 225 has the weight of standard items that aren't included in the PHB.
Thanks.

Hey, Inferno. Finally getting to this.
Just wanted to be sure: for my rat man, I'll follow halfling character creation first, as far as ability modifiers go (-1STR and +1DEX), then apply the rat man -2 to CHA? Or is the -2 to CHA instead of the halfling modifiers?

Hi Pixie,
It's in addition to the halfling ability modifiers.

Like dwarves, this charisma modifier only affects reactions from non-Rat-Men. :)

Right.

[1d100] = 28 Audible Glamer
[1d100] = 64 Change Self
[1d100] = 59 Color Spray
[1d100] = 6 hypnotism
[1d100] = 65 Phantasmal Force
[1d100] = 36 Wall of Fog
[1d100] = 21 Darkness

And I've updated the character sheet. Had to cut down on supplies to reduce his encumbrance to something tolerable.

Well... it looks like he'll be at least slightly non-annoying to Rat-Men, then. :)

Btw, super psyched to play this. Even more than before GaryCon, where I played Mutant Crawl Classics (I died) and Gamma World (also died) back to back. So much fun. Love this genre.

Nice Rat-Man!

I don't have my books open, but I think his Encumbrance might reduce his Movement below 12"?

I was going to ask about that. So, the book does say “about 70# or fairly bulky” is the step down to 9” movement, but his armor is non-bulky and with his STR he gets to carry +35#, so wouldn’t this cause the threshold for reduced movement for him to be 105#? Or am I interpreting this wrong somehow?

I'll be out of action until Wednesday the 21st, but I'll do my best at least to get equipment purchased so the game can kick off.

Here's the state of everyone's sheet...

Chubby Pixie: Fiefo LeBratt the Rat-Man Fighter ...This sheet is good to go! Thanks!

Mant72: Chaka the Ape-Boy Thief ...This sheet is approved! Thanks!

Ogre Mage: Buck (Moley) Russellswart the Mole-Man Cleric ...Still needs Encumbrance and Movement. Thanks for trying.

Ravenn4544: Ko-Nan the Human Barbarian ...Still needs Encumbrance, Movement and Armor Class. Thanks.

Spinward March: Tullia Galena the Half-Elf Ranger ...This sheet is done and ready to go. Thanks!

Starbeard: Jeojand the Cat-Man Magic-User ...Still needs Inventory, Weapons, Encumbrance, Movement and Memorized Spells. Thanks.

Urson: Maskelyn the Gnome Illusionist ....15 Con gives you a +1hp bonus. So hp should be 10. After that tweak, it's approved! Thanks!

wolfpack: L.L. Adrock the Half-Elf Cleric/Magic-User ..Still needs Encumbrance, Movement and Saving Throws. Fyi, rear AC shouldn't include Dex modifier. Thanks.

We're so close I can feel it! Thanks.

I updated Tullia's sheet to be closer to “standard” ranger/half-elf, armor, etc.:
chain for armor
long bow, long sword, and for fun, a horseman's pick. (I actually own a replica.)

Encumbrance question:
  • Item and weight
    bardiche 13
    hand axe 5
    dagger 1

    backpack 2
    pouch, large - 2 1

    sack - large 2
    waterskin 1 5
    torch 2 6
    flint and steel 1
    iron rations - 1 weeks 8

    tattered cloak 3
    iron pot- blackened and burnt 1
    wool blanket - worn 3
    canvas (10x10)- frayed 5
    twine for canvas 1
    banded armor 35

    TOTAL: 92
If barbarian base move is 15" (3" more than standard), and if this number is considered 'heavy gear' with a reduced rate of 3", is his move now 12" or something else considering any strength bonus or the fact that this weight is about half way between 'heavy gear' and 'very heavy gear'.

THANKS!
