Well we have a half thief (but I wont complain if there is more)

We could never have too many fighters either.
But yeah, a caster would be good too....


So I guess I am saying anything would be good at this point :)

I am at work and don't have access to books, can someone post the abilities for Gray Elves and Wood Elves from the UA?

Ah thanks.
Where did you go to school?

I have my initial sheet posted and will fill it out more when I get home and have the resources.
I have not chosen spells or anything like that yet.

Here is where the sheet is posted:
Whistlewyrd, Gray Elven Fighter and Mage

Makes it a lot more convenient for DMs to reference and you can edit it at will.

I am ready to cast those funky little magic spells.

Hope you guys don't mind me dropping fireballs at my feet...

I had to weigh the benefits of a fighter over being a cleric, and elf over half-elf

Grugach was out as they can only be fighter/thieves..danged limitations
Wood elf would give me +1 str but -1 int and not sure I wanted to go there with a mage.

The UA stats for elves replace the high elf stats right? meaning they don't get the +1 dex/-1 con and the other bonus...

Looks good. I'll post your starting equipment tonight along with the money that's left over. I noticed that he's listed as High Elf -- weren't you interested in grey elf?

Also tell me what two of the four weapons you're proficient with that you want to start with.

Probably post your private start tomorrow.

Specialization? If you choose a melee weapon, drop one of your proficiencies. If you choose a ranged weapon, drop two.

Weapon specialization text from UA is on the campaign site.

I get 4 slots for fighter and 1 for mage right?

Longsword (spec), Longbow, Dagger
Staff

I would spec in bow but the mage slot cannot be used to augment longbow or longsword as they are not allowed weapons for the mage.

I believe you only get 4. You take the "best of" from your multi-class combination, if I remember correctly -- not "in addition to."

Ya. I don't see it anywhere either, but it makes sense given other multi-class rules. You take the better of saves (by attack type), etc. Progressing as fighter on the weapon proficiency table (not to mention specialization) is a distinct advantage. I don't think adding an additional MU proficiency makes sense.
