Earc shrugs. "It doesn't feel like a true protective ring of power, the likes of which we've heard stories about in the Southlands. But... it seems like it does offer me a little protection from physical attacks. Is that something one of you two might want in lieu of some share of loot? My increased power will come from magical knowledge, not a minor ring of protection."

He removes the ring and holds it out for Amistad or Olaf to accept.

"A little protection?" echoes Olaf with furrowed brow. "Don' ken what that means."

He tries the ring on. "Come at me!" he says, inviting anyone to spar with him.

I total up 450 for the bugbear parts and 2905 for all the coins and metal. Exchanging it all for the 1% fee gives you 2876 + 450 = 3,326gp or 332pp, 6gp.

If you convert gems to cash, you need to use that exchange rate.
I think you're shortchanging us 1% of 55 gp that's already in gold and electrum. Not that it makes a big difference. :)

Could we get an idea what a merchant would pay for the blowguns, darts, and chains, or do we need to role-play that out?

And I still have no idea how to put a value on potions or magic items in LL. Anyone have thoughts on that? The availability of healing potions for 50gp puts the value of the other potions in question. AD&D 1e says a potion of invisibility is worth 500 gp and a potion of human control is worth 900 gp.

So...yeah, I have no idea what the magic stuff is worth, which makes it hard to make up fair lots.

I figured you would divide up coin and gems and divide magic items separately, as has been the norm for the LLBasic games.

The Morlock items are more a curiosity than something someone would objectively use. They are off a strange style, but also of a strange quality of steel unknown to the Smiths. You could get 15gp for the chains, 6gp for the short spear blow pipes, and 1gp each for the darts, if you tried to sell them. (I am not going to force you to RP that out.)

It bears reminding that I am quoting you all prices for liquidating here, in Gaul. If you wish to send them anything (Morlock silverware, the weapons, the bugbear parts) south on commission, you can get a multiplier factor higher in three months.

Earc will pay 2gp each for the morlock darts if the hirelings want to sell theirs to him.

Yeah, just split the non-magical loot for the coin value. Then we can divvy up magical items and potions.

It should be noted that the ring likely has additional effects as it is a 4001xp item, which means it is 2nd tier.

Amistad

I don't mind taking some of the Morlock silverware. Maybe even dour Mr Hyde could invest a few gold for them to use in the tavern? I also wanted to gift a small cutlery set it to the ever welcoming Frogmortons?

I think the weapons we just divide between us. Amistad will prefer hard cash to continue his investment building and one of the potions. He gets battered a lot for a fighter so would take a potion of healing. Just let me know how much cash he gets as his share, thanks.

Yeah, I'm not going to quibble over a 1% exchange fee to make it easier to divide everything up quickly. Convert all of the loot to coin, divide up gems and magic items. Done.

I'll work out a suggested division here if you want...

Also, Earc used one of his personal potions of healing to try and get the two hirelings revived, so I'd like to get that replaced off the top, if nobody disagrees.

Earc took two sips off the invisibility potion. Other than that, no.

Okay, so you're divvying 6/8 of an Invisibility Potion. :)

1760gp value in gems
3326gp after trading in metal bits for coin
-------------------------------------------------
5086gp value total

Full Shares = 1271gp value
Half Shares = 635gp value

(I understand there are a few gp that get lost in rounding here and I'm not worried about that.)

Coin/gem distribution:
Olaf: Flawless Black Opal (750gp); Tiger Eye Agate (10gp); 511gp
Earc: Round, Faceted Peridot (250gp); Large Cracked Pale Green Tourmaline (100gp); 921gp
Amistad: Golden Brown Citrine (250gp); Small Radiant Banded Agate (100gp); 921gp
Akkara: Worn, Oval Amber (100gp); Blue-green Turquoise (50gp); 485gp
Achaedany: Flawed Amber (75gp); Tiny Roundel of Golden Amber (25gp); Round, Polished Onyx (50gp); 485gp

Everyone happy with this?

Then we just need to distribute:
Potion of invisibility
Potion of human control
Two potions of Healing
Golden ring (-1AC bonus and something yet undiscovered)

I'm fine with giving each of the hirelings a potion of healing. Amistad can take the potion of Human Control. Earc the potion of invisibility. Olaf gets the ring? That's a bit unbalanced, though. Olaf takes the ring and gives Earc and Amistad each 250gp?

Or I'm open to other ideas/suggestions.

Also, that doesn't account for the sale of the weapons. And, as previously mentioned, Earc will buy any darts from anyone who doesn't want them (Marullus, you can determine if the hirelings want to do that?) for 2gp ea, which is double what the vendor will pay. But he doesn't need any more blowdart tubes and doesn't need the steel chains, so that all should be sold and divided unless others want some of it.

We ended up light on magical items this venture. But then again we didn't quite DO a whole lot. Spent most of our time traveling, didn't we? Earc is definitely going to travel closer for his next venture...

Or, sure, we could get some vials and divvy up the Invisibility Potion into three vials of 2-sips each for the main PCs if everyone wants.

Akkara and Achaedany wish to keep their chains, darts, and blow Spears as part of their magical loot division.

Having spent most of the trip wounded, they will happily take the potions of healing as their share. ;)

"Olaf takes the ring and gives Earc and Amistad each 250gp?"

That's out of the 511 coin he still gets?

My feeling is that Olaf wants all the gems he can get, and that his little brain doesn't understand how an itty bitty ring is going to stop a sword. But an AC bonus is always good, so I think I'm okay with that allocation.

Also: Olaf will offer to buy the following gems at the listed premiums, up to his limits of available cash:

Round, Faceted Peridot (250gp): 275gp
Golden Brown Citrine (250gp): 275 gp
Small Radiant Banded Agate (100gp): 110 gp
Blue-green Turquoise (50gp): 55 gp
Round, Polished Onyx (50gp): 55 gp

He's open no negotiation if those premiums aren't high enough. :)

Yes, that was basically passing on most of his coin share of the treasure to take the ring.

If Olaf wants gems, then we should figure out a different way of division of loot (unless Olaf has lots of coin elsewhere?). Maybe someone else gets the ring, then, for a share of gems/coins.

Earc would prefer to spend a significant portion of his coin on new spells and tower upkeep, so he's not interested in the ring.

That would be an extra 166/167/167gp for each PC. Earc would be fine with that.

Then he'd also happily trade the Peridot for 275gp with Olaf, because he's just going to give a bunch of gold to the infirmary to copy some spells down, anyway. Certainly, the more/better spells Earc has, the more the whole party benefits...
