Hooray! Now to get on to the fiddly bits. So the ID 77 and we use the Unseen Servant Dice roller.... Time to figure that out. Now what to run , what to run......

Thanks for running this Acererak!

Since I'm running a couple of Mages and a Cleric/Thief on these boards allready; here's a Fighter from a PBP game I created on a different site that never really got off the ground. Please let me know if he works for this game!

I think I speak for all Lurkers when I say, "PLEASE keep both paladins in the party! I can't wait to watch this play out!"

No problem with two paladins, this should be interesting. So far we have two paladins, one fighter and a druid it seems.

Looks like we have a front line, ranged support and utility caster. Now we just healbot, trap detector and powermage. ;)

Actually looks like it will be a fun mix.

With a couple of Paladins and a Druid who can start casting healing spells next level (if we make it that far, of course! :) ); there's a lot less need for a Cleric whose only 1st level Spell they ever memorize is CLW. Which is good; because Clerics have a fair number of versatile spells at 1st and 2nd Level that all too often go overlooked, in my opinion!

But yes....a Mage and a Thief would be very usefull! :)

When setting up the character information, should we include the adjustments in the number, or listed separately?
i.e. the paladin gets a +2 to saving throws. Do I change the saving throw matrix, or just list a plus two when rolling?

Same idea with THAC0 etc.

Sorry I haven't gotten my act together. Been slammed at work. I'll try to get a character 'ginned up either tomorrow evening (Central US time) or Saturday.

I usually play either magic-users or fighters.

I'd say we're pretty stocked with Fighter types; but by all means, play what you like! :)

What clothing are the PCs expected to buy, and what are they expected to just "have"?

also, if we have to provision with starting money, what clothing would a fighter/paladin where besides the boots? a tunic?robe? I am not that competent in midieval attire...

...Nor weaponry. What would be a good accessory defensive/melee weapon to the sword (besides the dagger)? Looking at the poles/pikes/mace/ etc. Half of these I have never heard of. I think my poor paladin needs some sort of sharp stick to carry...
Is there a website that breaks them down into preference/usefulness for 1e gameplay?

Hey onlyme....

As for clothing; a basic shirt and pants (and underthings) are usually considered to "come with" the Character and you don't have to purchase these....

Beyond that; I'd imagine most Paladins would have a surcoat (think that big "shirt" that is worn over the armor and typically has a cross or coat of arms embroided on it when you look at pictures of Medeval Knights/Men at Arms)....

As for weapons; The Mace and Flail were popular "low-tech" weapon choices for Knights and Men-at-Arms......the Polearms were Footmen's weapons; but as for "pointy sticks"; a Lance makes perfect sense for a Paladin....though of course; it probably won't be of much use in most Dungeon-crawl settings!

Warhammers are another good choice....a Blunt Melee weapon that can be hurled....

Anyway, just some thoughts of the top of my head; hope it helps! :)

Looks like we have 6 characters ready... Is that enough to get the ball rolling?

There was a couple of qustions about buying animals BTB, (War/Guard Dogs, perhaps Hawk), the druid and wizard and looking for some extra protection.

Guys,
I will be away from my PC most of next week. If we get started and I havent responded timely, please npc Jaspheron when needed.
I assume we wont get into battle before I get back fully engaged on the 13th.

My guess is that I will have enough chances to surf on my cell phone to at least post, even if I can't roll.

Did we lose our DM? It's been a few weeks since he has logged in, anyone know if he is alright?
