Quoros quietly gestures for everyone to step back as far away from the opening of the tower as possible. He suspects the men in the courtyard know of the spider and won't venture too close to it for that reason.

He steps back away from the opening as he does this.

"How do we like our chances of grabbing and muzzling Mr Pink the approaching bandit without raising an alarm?" Castien asks quietly. "If we can eliminate them one-by-one, I like our chances a lot more."

Castien nods and removes his sash in a silent approval of Gandrel's proposal. Let's hope this works, he thinks to himself. Without realizing it, his grip on his quarterstaff grows tighter.

Ausus silently runs his hand down the length of the hilt of his blade, anxious at the many ways the plan could run afoul.

Prologue 1.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 11 (5:00am)
54h/44l, 10mph

The brigand holding the torch turns in time to see the other one heading south toward the tower.

"Dulmer, I wouldn't advise that," he grumbles. "Remember what happened to Lukus when he went out and about the other eve!."

"Tis' will be alright," the one nearing the tower shouts back as he puts his hand to his ear looking as if to listen in your direction. "I thunk I heard somethin' this way," he then points toward your entryway.

"Bring thu' light here...I wanna look," he finishes as he reaches the tower entryway.

Anyone doing anything?

OOC - Not unless we can grab him before he's in. If he doesnt come in and spots us from the outside we will have to do this the hard way - fighters to the fore.

Prologue 1.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 11 (5:00am)
54h/44l, 10mph

Cole suddenly pulls his right hand off of his sheathed sword and grabs the brigand by his tunic collar right as he peeks his head into the tower. Using his strength as well as his weight, the warrior anchors himself against the inside wall with his body and gives a violent tug sending the bandit sprawling and into the center of the tower, crashing hard to the floor. Face-down, he gives a low groan and begins to attempt to pick himself up.

Meanwhile, the party members peering out into the courtyard observe the human with the torch stunned at what he just saw as he rallies the rest of his band letting them know what was going on. They are not rushing toward the tower but seem to be organizing quickly on what to do now.

Cole ignores the bandit that he threw to the floor and unsheathes his sword quietly, turning his attention to guarding the entryway.

Castien wastes no time in trying to keep the face-down bandit in a prone (or worse) situation. He brings his quarterstaff down on the bandit. Note: No modifiers have been applied to my attack role. If any are warranted given the prone/stunned condition of the opponent, can they manually be added to my result?

To hit with quarterstaff [1d20] = 9
Damage with quarterstaff [1d6] = 4 <--- just in case

"He might be of more use to us alive!" Quoros hisses. As soon as it is safe from Castien's swing, Quoros will attempt to subdue the brigand.

(Let me know what kind of roll you want for that, Omega.)

Karl unsheathes his sword and moves to the opposite side of the doorway from Cole. He doesn't say a word, just looks to Cole for direction.

Gandrel will move out of Karl's way as he approaches and move to stuff the sash in the bandits mouth by grabbing his head first. He will then hold the sash in place, ensuring the guy can breathe through his nose. He will await the outcome of Quoros' and Cast's actions before doing anything further.

Prologue 1.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 11 (5:00am)
54h/44l, 10mph

Castien puts a well placed shot to the stunned bandit's lower back and hears the dull sound of ribs cracking as he lets out a quick scream in pain before his breath leaves him. Quoros moves to subdue the bandit following the strike but Gandrel intervenes seeing that he is pretty much disabled at this point. The rogue easily secures a sash in his mouth, holding it in place.

Cole and Karl observe the group huddle in the courtyard as they whence at the scream they just heard. The bandit with the torch seems to be giving directions and moments later he points toward the tower and two brigands break off from the group and begin creeping toward the entryway with short swords drawn.

"I've always believed it to be better to leave the last one standing, not the first." Castien replies.

Castien, momentarily shocked at the effectiveness of his strike, ignores the limp body before him. He turns and realizes more trouble is on its way. He takes a few seconds to try and catch his breath before wheeling around to face the tower entryway with his quarterstaff readied. "If someone is able, perhaps someone should try to take out the leader with the torch."

Prologue 1.2 (Adventuring)
579 CY, Goodmonth 11 (5:00am)
54h/44l, 10mph

Cole looks back quickly and makes everyone aware of the two that are approaching in a loud whisper.

"Gandrel, get up here!," he orders. "We are probably going to need this magic that you possess."

"And that I was unaware of...,"
he mumbles to himself.

Everyone can have one solid action round before the two are at the entryway. Please state what each of you is doing or going to do if anything and then we will proceed.

ooc: He's not going to leave the tower, so Castien will stick with this:

He takes a few seconds to try and catch his breath before wheeling around to face the tower entryway with his quarterstaff readied.

OOC - Does Gandrel have to get all his armour off to cast a spell? Whether it is all or part, how long would it take to do this? Then how long to get it back on again?
