Sharky's Hole.
Re: Sharky's Hole.
Sam rushes Grima, intending to clear a path to the exit for the other hobbits.

Re: Sharky's Hole.
Grima's eyes widen with the hollering hobbit charging toward him with the pitchfork. Why are these things always so loud? he wonders for the umpteenth time. Oh my goodness, those tines look sharp. He will have to be first. And let Master see how effective a tool I truly can be. Time to show how sharp my tines be as well.
Grima casts magic missile at Farmer Cotton and then steps through the doorway behind him, intent on his next move.

The Hobbits Depart
Round 3
Cotton shouts for the group to scatter as he and Sam head back towards the door.
Grima is glad to be rid of the disgusting form he was forced to polymorph into. He quickly begins to take his revenge on the hobbits, also trying to impress Saruman. He flicks his soft, boney fingers in the direction of the charging Cotton. 3 small bolts of energy shoot forth and strike the advancing farmer, sizzling as they burn into the stout Hobbits flesh. 13 dam
Frodo pulls out his shining magical phial, given to him by Galadrial herself. He presents it towards the evil mage and it flares up brightly, now lighting the entire room. Unfortunately, he is too far away to be blinded by the effect.
Merry charges his curious cousin, hoping to knock him down with his shield. As he advances, he sees Pippin use his cloak to grab up the sphere. Just as Merry is about to pounce, Pippin reaches back to throw the glass ball at Saruman. The two collide with each other awkwardly and the covered sphere falls to the floor with a loud thud, rolling away harmlessly. The duo then notice a small stairway carved into the rock that leads up to the platform the wizard now stands on.
The haggard white wizard laughs deeply at his foes antics as he begins an incantation of his own. He points at Merry as he tosses a dab of solidified milk fat into the air. Suddenly, the Captain of Rohan feels sluggish and unable to move normally. Save vs. Spells, please.
"Ha! Leaving so soon, Sam? But the fun has just started! And I thought you were supposed to be the brave one?!? Don't fret! I won't kill you! I need you all alive!"
As Grima turns to leave through the doorway, he is set upon by both Farmer Cotton and Samwise Gamgee. Their fork and knife both carve into the frail human, causing him to bleed and to scream out awkwardly. 7 dam

Re: Sharky's Hole.
Grima backs away and casts invisible on himself. Hurt physically by the histrionic midgets but even more so psychically by his master. Keep them alive?! What about keeping alive those who serve you faithfully? He cringes as he frets over this wounding but first must survive these children's tantrums. Once invisible his first maneuver is to PM the DM so as to manuever right next to...

Re: Sharky's Hole.
Having some experience with magics of invisibility, Sam immediatly backs against a wall and swings his sword defensively around him, hoping to catch anyone or thing approaching. He calls out for Farmer Cotton to do likewise.
Re: Sharky's Hole.
"Up the stairs!" repeats Pippin as he charges alongside Merry, climbing the stairs and... (gulp!) ...attacking the white wizard!
The foolish little hobbit remembers all the things Gandalf taught him at Minas Tirith about courage. He girds his nerve and slashes with his Elven blade!
Short Sword: To hit: [1d20+2] = 11+2 = 13, Damage: S/M: [1d6+2] = 2+2 = 4, L: [1d8+2] = 1+2 = 3
Macro doesn't include +2 for charging.

Farmer Cotton
Grunts half in surprise, and half in pain as the magic missiles burn into his chest. Seeing the miserable creature vanish just after feeling the tines of his pitchfork bite in, he curses and looks about, then hearing sam he does as he says since he sounds so confident.
To hit
[1d20] = 20 ooc: oh baby!
Damage
[1d6+3] = 6+3 = 9
Feeling another squish as his pitchfork bites again he whoops with excitement. "Take that, you rotted turnip!"

Sam to Farmer Cotton: "Do have him? Hold him fast!"
Sam swings above the tines of the pitchfork.
Shortsword (THACO 18) [1d20] = 13 damage: [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4
I'm hoping that being able to target off the clearly-visible pitchfork negates the attack penalty from the invisibility.

Frodo wheels about! We must flee to higher ground. Come Sam.

Re: Sharky's Hole.
Oops, I forgot to bring the map. I hate saying things like this in a fantasy game, but you will have to use you imaginations.
The Hobbits Scatter
Round 4
Merry and Pippin pick themselves up off the floor and charge towards the steps leading to the evil wizard. Merry stumbles a few times on the way there, unable to control his movements very well. He seems to be moving at a much slower pace than his cousin. As Pippin gets close to the top, (full movement, no attack) he sees his old friend Fatty Bolger move over towards the top of the steps to block the way to Saruman.
Due to Saruman not yet being back to full strength, I will give Merry a save each round to see if you can shake the effects of this Fumble spell.
Saruman turns towards the grave Pippin as he ascends to the top of the stairs. He suggests that he also offer him some aid like his old friend Fatty.
"Protect me!" Is all that he says.
Save vs. Spells, please.
Just as Sam and Cotton lunge towards the dark Wormtongue again, he instantly disappears before their very eyes. Fortunately, Samwise knows a little bit about invisibility. He swings his sword around with his back to the wall as Cotton lunges forward with his fork again. The stout farmer feels his tines find soft flesh and hears another whimper from the unseen mage. Sam pokes his sword in that direction thinking that he too may have caused damage. Then, the black mage is gone.

Save, no bonuses: [1d20] = 18
Merry bounds up 2 steps and bounces back one. Every time he gets to his feet he manages to trip over them. He urges his cousin Pippin on. Fatty's under Saruman's control! Try not to hurt him!

Re: Sharky's Hole.
Sam calls out, "Sorry Mister Frodo, I think Pippin and Merry need our help, right now!"
He rushes after the two hobbits, ready to attack as soon as he is range.

Re: Sharky's Hole.
Amazed that his companions rush towards danger, rather than away from it, Frodo changes course and rushes to aid Merry and Pippin, Sting singing in his hand!

Farmer Cotton
Not liking how this fight is going one bit... he'd rather see a nice freindly corpse on the grown rather that wonder where that greasy slop Hob... Wormtongue... whatever his name is... well... is! Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, ever a hobbit of action, he moves back into the main room and finds a good spot, taking out his sling and letting a bullet fly but in all the excitement it flies off wild and he curses under his breath in a very unhobbitlike way.
[1d20] = 6
[1d3] = 1

Roll a D20 against your Rod, Staff, and Wand Saving Throw
Your saves can be found on your character sheet, right below the main stats.
(you need a roll of 13 or higher to escape horrible consequences)

Re: Sharky's Hole.
Sorry
Revision from last round:
At the top of the stairs, Fatty Bolger steps in front of the charging Pippin, putting himself in between he and Saruman. Pippin uses his momentum to his advantage and swats at Fatty with the flat of his blade. He hits his kinsman hard, but does little real damage. Fatty stands unmoving, still blocking the way to his new master.
A slight chuckle comes from the lips of the white wizard.
