Tyrrell

Are we in the room with the hatchway above the hellpits or somewhere else and, having rested even fitfully how long must Tyrrell wait to recover his spells?

"You would still have your stuff and you would still be in the Hell-Pits were it not for some wretch getting pissed drunk on duty and falling asleep as creatures encroached upon us. Yes, Tog you did a fine job saving us, more commendable still if you had stuck to your task. But you have stuck with us in our adversity and redeemed yourself from court martial, I shall recommend you in despatches to the Bishop."

Now, Tyrrell will find a corner to pray and meditate and look to recover some spell casting ability.

Tog turns her palms face-up. "Gurzla not impressed. Last time you go below as six and return with four dead in a few hours; but you give her pretty amulet. This time you go below with four and return with two dead in a few hours, but you are not strong. You lie dead on the floor for five days while Tog protects your throat. If you not strong, they take your stuff. Goblin ways."

You slept four five days; you're fine to memorize spells. It takes one hour to memorize all spells for the day.

Tog looks at Tyrrell skeptically for almost a minute, silent until you settle into your prayers. You're not sure she really understood your reprimand.

She turns back to Carchannoi. "He's stupid. You sure he needs living?"

Tog doesn't look pleased by this idea. She goes back to guarding the door. An hour passes and Tyrrell's spells are refreshed. Tog departs and returns with some stale food and a bucket of questionable water, but it looks like heaven to the famished. In short order they begin to feel like themselves enough to decide a further plan.

Tyrrell

"Where are we now, still in Guhras' tower?

I suspect if they wanted us dead, they could easily have done it, even with Tog 'defending us to the last'. So shall we explore beyond the door.

If he can, Tyrrell will pull out a loose angled brick and bind it with some linen strips to a shaft of wood, table leg, broken broom stick, to make a Neanderthal type basic club, just in case he needs to proffer up 'the laying on of hands.'

Tyrrell peaks out the doorway. You're in an empty storage room adjacent to the chamber with the trapdoor. There are three goblins lazing around while "guarding" the trapdoor, iron bars in place.

Date: 6:15 pm, 29 May 2021
Light Source: Sunlight through arrow slits on the wall
Injuries: Tyrrell (seriously wounded); Carchannoi (seriously wounded)

Tyrrell

"I can do this only once today, so I trust Baudhs blessings will be upon our endeavours here.

Tyrrell casts his CLW spells on Charchannoi Cute light wounds[1d6+1] = 4+1 = 5 and himself before we leave the room. Cute light wounds[1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6

He suggests knocking the guards out and retrieving our stuff first before entering the pits again.

With food, water, and the infusion of Baudh's holy grace, both companions feel fully restored.

They do not see their equipment in the chamber outside, though.

I meant searching the tower for the stuff.

Tog can you give your Master a blade to stick with? Tyrrell asks, thinking we could rush one each.

What other entrances are there from that room?

Tog looks dubiously at her longsword, then holds it out to Carchannoi.

The room has the hatch down and stairs up. Another door mirrors your own on the other side.

Tyrrell

Pauses for Charchannoi' action in case he wishes to talk with Gurha's minions first.

"Tog, what is beyond that door there, another guard room. How many of Gurha's warrior and wargs are on this floor?"

Tyrrell

Seeing a slight confusion in comprehension. Tyrrell asks,
"How many more goblins are in the other room?"

Tog opens the door and walks out by the trap door. The three goblins lounging there only give her a passing glance. She opens the door on the other side and peers in, then yells back, "None!"

Carchannoi smiles at the clever plan, but thinks it would be better to use his prepared spells instead: two charm persons. He suggests that they approach the guards, charm them, and ask them to retrieve the stuff, or failing that, where it is.
