What it says on the tin. Taking care of business once you're returned from the deeps.

(Is this an out of character thread? Or are we RPing in here too? All three of my characters are from town, do I assume they have homes, or masters in the case of the blacksmith's boy, Avery?)

Fair enough assumptions.

We'll take care of things a bit more loosely here. Purchase things you need to purchase, deal with things you need to deal with. Decide how long you want to wait before the second expedition, and then get back to the Barrowmaze.

NOTE: As the game progresses, events of importance might occur between expeditions.

Avery and Girt take the portion of their hard won money that remains unspent and (if there is no temple to Ulesh, God of Peace), bury it at a site on the edge of town as an offering, and promise to construct a shrine in the future. Avery purchases/crafts a holy symbol of Ulesh for himself and Girt, and Girt buys himself a mace and shield, and a bone for Giant. They kneel together over the site of their future shrine and take a solemn vow to Ulesh, to bring peace into the world, and use violence against the living only in self-defense or as a last resort, and to destroy utterly any undead that cross their path.

Toothy Herman returns to his hovel, a hide and bough framed tent covered in mystic symbols and hanging herbs. He sits in intense meditation, attempting to contact his beloved Fates. He heats a small knife, and with gritted teeth, brands himself a servant of Law, and the Fates. He purchases a folio of blank pages from the papermaker in town, Ink and several quills. He meditates, hoping for inspiration, but none comes. Toothy Herman is illterate, and he refuses to make a mark until the Fates reveal the tools he will need to serve them.

Two others have agreed to accompany Silva and company. One is striking: Standing tall and black with a narrow blond mohican, Ballotelli the Blue, Champion of Barclay, stands insouciant in his doublet and hose, hand of longsword, gold medallion prominently displayed. His gaze tells all that they are lucky to be in his presence and should enjoy it while they can.
The other is a square-jawed farmer, stoutly muscled, earnest expression, with pitchfork in hand and a rooster under his arm.

The Third Expedition thread is already set, so as soon as anyone is ready, they can post there. Assume the mob begins in the village square. For new players, please read the first post here: http://unseenservant.us/forum/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=525

Assuming Milner made it out alive, he'd like to return to the dungeon!

Grim Oddson, dwarven blacksmith, would like to see what his 1 ounce mithril bar would fetch on the local market. He'd like to get enough to either purchase some leather armor for him and his cousin, Pikar Ottarson, dwarven musrhoom farmer, or at least for himself. If there's anything left over, he'll get a shield for him and his cousin (if possible). They'll both buy 3 extra torches and 2 days worth of rations with their starting pennies, if possible.

Darryl the gambler will go purchase 3 torches and 2 days worth of rations with his starting pennies, if possible. Then he'll find an alleyway and engage in some gambling with some dudes, if possible. He'll stop if he gets up to 5 sp, or if he loses all of his pennies. He bets big so it'll go fast, one way or the other. Assuming he wins some, he'll try to buy a sack.

Cisneros the elven artisan will use his clay to make some nice molds for the local smith (knife probably, or metal rings for making mail, or something trinkety) and try to sell them or trade them for whatever he can get. He'll also look to trade his staff and mirror for some padded armor and a longsword. If he has any money left over, he'll get as many days worth of rations as he can.

Poor folk as they are, the villagers are happy to trade a couple of shields and a suit of leather armour for your mithral bar, hoping to sell it to the Lord in his Castle or to some passing trader for a few coins more.
They'll both buy 3 extra torches and 2 days worth of rations with their starting pennies, if possible.
Easily acquired in Helix.

Darryl the gambler can earn enough to get a sack, but cannot find enough marks in this podunk little village to get more than 20 cp before it becomes too rich for their blood. There is a larger village a ways off, though, where he might try his luck at some point....?

Metal rings for making mail are cut from wire, the drawing of which is laborious indeed. A mold for something such as a dagger can only be used once, making them of little value individually. However, the smith is impressed with your trinkety work enough to make you an offer: In exchange for what you've done already, he'll make you a mithral weapon and a mithral suit of armour at the cost of normal gear, once. The smith's name is Mordart. The amount of iron in his smithy makes your skin itch.

Okay. Can he trade the staff/mirror for some padded armor and a longsword? (I hadn't thought about it, but are steel WEAPONS off limits to elves as well? I mean, hilts are usually brass or leather wrapped anyway, aren't they?)
